Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager wrote a warm letter to the Obamas' daughters, Malia and Sasha, cheering them on as they begin the next step in their lives after spending eight years in the White House.
"Now you are about to join another rarified club, one of former First Children — a position you didn’t seek and one with no guidelines. But you have so much to look forward to," wrote the Bush sisters in a Time magazine op-ed published on Thursday.
"You will be writing the story of your lives, beyond the shadow of your famous parents, yet you will always carry with you the experiences of the past eight years,"
In their letter, the Bush twins recalled the warm memories of their own childhood and their experience growing up in the White House.
"The four of us wandered the majestic halls of the house you had no choice but to move in to. When you slid down the banister of the solarium, just as we had done as 8-year-olds and again as 20-year-olds chasing our youth, your joy and laughter were contagious," they wrote.
The letter also urged the president's daughters to look past the harsh criticism of their parents and the immense pressure that comes with being in the first family.
"You have lived through the unbelievable pressure of the White House. You have listened to harsh criticism of your parents by people who had never even met them. You stood by as your precious parents were reduced to headlines," the Bush sisters said. "Your parents, who put you first and who not only showed you but gave you the world. As always, they will be rooting for you as you begin your next chapter. And so will we."

The Bushes can extend as many Olive Branches as they want to. Moochele will just use that branch to figuratively beat them over the head, next time she sees Oprah for a televised Pity Party. She will never be your friends. You Bushes still don’t get that?
Desperation to get the Bush name in a positive way into the. Eww for personal gain. If it were for well meaning motives it would have been secret, why did America need to know this?

I’m about as critical of the Clinton/Bush cartel as anyone. I don’t have a problem with this action by the Bush daughters.
I think it’s a classy thing to do. It represents our way of thinking so much better than the Democrats politician’s way of thinking.
Someone mentioned that the Obama daughters might be disgusted at the thought, but that reflects on them, not the Bush girls.
I don’t see the Bush girls headed into politics. I’m so glad for that.
