The lowest-common-denominator approach proposed by this bill would undermine the core principles of federalism, the traditional police powers of state governments, and the safety of law enforcement officers across the country. Its absolutely unacceptable for the federal government to dictate that someone can carry a concealed, loaded gun within a states border, in violation of that states laws. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman in New Bill Would Force States to Allow Visiting Gun Owners to Pack Heat Without a Permit

Constitution says so, sparky. Also, if a State MUST recognize homosexual unions from one State, as well as drivers licenses, CDL's, etc. then it naturally follows that CCWs should be recognized.
Good points.
I guess he thinks the U.S. Constitution is open to nullification in states, amendment by amendment.
How would he like it if states started nullifying civil rights amendments on a whim?
It is absolutely unacceptable that NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman be allowed to nullify the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, a right all of the Several States are obligated and required to guarantee by being part of the Union (and I don't mean labor unions)!
Ping
See the Avalon Project and read each state Constitution.
Hmmm. Guess he has no problem if the federal govt dictates that people be required to purchase insurance they don’t want for a price they can’t afford or you get penalized. Yeah, that’s just fine and dandy. Nobody said you MUST have a weapon. What a moron. Must be styled after nannie bloomers.

So ends the hope of getting CCW reciprocity. The unfree states will NEVER accept it, regardless of Federal law. They ignore the 1986 Gun Owners’ Protection Act now. Don’t believe me? Drive into NJ with a gun and stop for gas. Bye, you’re in jail.
Suddenly he is worried about states’ rights, I’ll bet anything that he applauded when the SC ruled that ALL states must permit gay marriages.
Eric Schneiderman is not a gifted thinker. According to his logic, the State of Louisiana should be able to ignore my Texas Drivers License and subject me to their own license, even as I simply pass thru the state.
And bear in mind, DRIVING is a PRIVILEGE while being armed is a constitutional RIGHT.
It shouldn't ought to be that way but I take precautions when travel through the Garden State. Don't let them know you have a gun. Keep your trip quiet and don't broadcast it. I live in NY. I deer hunt in NY. I often travel through jersey and PA for a much shorter trip. I don't wear hunting garb, it's not hung in Windows either. Guns are locked away in my pickup cap. Don't driver over the speed limit, don't swerve. Leave to go through Jersey around 5AM.
I follow the law as set down by the 1986 Gun Owners Protection Act, but know Jersey won't accept it, so I do my best to not present a target.
Hey! Aren’t my constitutional rights valid throughout the US? My rights to keep & bear arms, just like speech should not matter on which side of a state, county, or city line I stand.
I met Schneiderman once. Putz seems to be a good description.
Did you wash your hands after?
How can a frikin STATE nullify a constitutional right?
That train left the station a long time ago. Try this on for size, Eric:
Its absolutely unacceptable for the federal government to dictate that black people must be permitted to attend the same schools and drink from the same drinking fountains as white people within a states border, in violation of that states laws. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman
Felt like I needed shower using Lava soap.
He was at a gun show shortly after the Safe Act was passed. He was checking bags to see if someone was buying something Little Andy outlawed.
Like I said, he’s a putz.
Yep. Either states comply or they don't for everything....not just the liberal nutball causes...
