Sen. Tammy Baldwin: 'The system is rigged'

Before the November election, Trump’s claim that the electoral process was rigged became a campaign rallying cry. Wisconsin Democrats are also saying the system is rigged — but they’re referring to the tax system and government official appointments.

On two Sunday morning talk shows, Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Wisconsin state Rep. Dianne Hesselbein, D-Middleton, expressed their party’s determination to fight special interests, implement tax reform and, in Baldwin’s words, “(work) on behalf of Wisconsin’s working people.”

On “Capital City Sunday,” Baldwin said the political system is rigged to benefit those at the economic top, and that Trump’s cabinet picks are perpetuating this trend.

“Since I was elected in 2012, I have been fighting very powerful interests in Washington who have been trying to, and have succeeded in, rigging the system,” she said. “When you look at (Trump’s) early nominees for early cabinet posts and his rhetoric around ‘draining the swamp,’ there are some huge concerns.”

Baldwin said she’s been fighting the “revolving door” of government officials who come straight from Wall Street to oversee the industry they just left, then return to industry after working in government. Some of Trump’s picks fall into this unsettling category, she said.

“He talked about draining the swamp, but it looks to me like there's going to be a lot of foxes put in charge of the henhouses, if you will,” she said.

She’s also working to have political appointees and elected officials reveal their tax returns in order to expose a rigged tax system.

“Somebody's tax returns are incredibly crucial to understanding how (the tax system) has worked and fighting for a change in the system,” she said, noting very few of Trump’s nominees have disclosed the information required of them before the hearings.

Wisconsins do-nothing-other-than-be-gay Senator Tammy Baldwin echoes the line Trump made famous, but of course for a different reason. More drivel from another insignificant leftist who will hopefully be a one-term Senator.

What is it with the name "Baldwin" anyway?

“looks to me like there’s going to be a lot of foxes put in charge of the henhouses”

It’s in the foxes’ interest to convince the chickens that sheepdogs are foxes.

Yep. And we’re also going to show who does a better job of “helping families”, Trump or the promise everything, deliver nothing Democrats. There should have been a shovel-ready job for every one of those families, right?

Yet, when Hillary claimed 102 million in “tax deductions” for giving her pre-tax money to herself for a phony “charity” that takes hundreds of millions in foreign “donations” yet spends only 6% on “charities” - many of THOSE to organizations that themselves donated back to the Clintons’ campaigns! ???

Nothing but silence from the RINO-elites and their democrat handlers..

fight for working people

Gee. Do you think that Tammy finally got the message that Wisconsin is going to stay Red unless Tammy starts caring about working people more than lesbian rights?

Probably the single biggest thing that American voters should understand is: “The system is rigged”.

Put another way” “Everything is under control” — which is a statement that be taken in two opposite ways: either reassuring, or very, very scary.

The news, the elections, the government apparatus — it’s all rigged to benefit the powerful. You cannot look to the Elitists and hope that they will truly care about you. They don’t. They care about themselves. They have built a multi-trillion dollar machine to serve their own interests. The system is rigged.

And so constantly driving toward LIMITED government and a return to personal responsibility is vitally important. Drain the swamp. Dismantle the machine.

TammyGay et al represent the working and middle classes ZERO. They think throwing a few dollars here and there takes care of their lack of respect.

Have some real balls Tam and get rid of crap public schools, Sec 8 housing, immigration esp illegal, and your beloved “Affirmative Action Programs”

Those are the things that are killing off America’s vast middle class. And we/they are tired of your kind continually bringing problems into our neighborhoods, schools, malls and workplaces.

The best thing you could do the middle class is demand responsibility by others, your Dim constituencies and colleagues. Grow up, behalf, work, study, obey the law, get married . . . Try that for a change, it worked wonderfully before

That’s just creepy. Makes you want to abolish the income tax so people can get a little privacy back.

Hey Tammy what about all of the campaign donations you accept from Millionaires - or as you say the people who run the rigged system? Tammy do nothing has got to be the #1 Senate Target of the GOP for the next election.
