The Republicans need to go Nuclear on anything they need that the Democrats try to stop.
Reid was warned about the Nuclear option and the Democrats crammed it down America’s throat.

By demanding, IN ADVANCE, that he is going to use the filibuster to stop any nomination that is not a liberal, the Republicans now have THE JUSTIFICATION to nuke the filibuster here.

He isn’t sending a message to Republicans. He is keeping contact with the disgruntled Left. The Left is very upset and he is trying to stay ahead of them to demonstrate he is the right leader at the right time. If he were to remain silent, as he should, it would create an apparent power vacuum and he probably would have to continuously fight to keep his position. This is the verbal equivalent of marking his territory by peeing.
Force him to filibuster. Make them look like little spoiled brats. Don’t change the rules because even though it will help now, it will hurt later.

I'm sick and tired of being governed by, in effect, one a-hole in 5-4 decisions.
This will come back to bite us some day.
I understand that any forbearance we show today will be ignored when the other side regains power.
Instead I’d like to see the filibuster added to the constitution. A 5/4 or maybe even a 6/3 supreme court is a big (and perhaps long lasting) prize, but a constitutional amendment might just save the republic some day.
I’d also add a limit of 9 justices while we are at it.
Democrat Reid killed the filibuster.
President Trump will appoint qualified, honest, conservative Judges.
President Trump has miles to go before he sleeps.

Not the Supreme Court - when has our side ever tried to block a Democrat pick? Answer: Never, which is why the Dems always get their flaming leftist on the Court.
So filibuster or not, we rubber-stamp their picks anyway...so let’s nuke it. Legislation is different, and I might tend to agree with you there - but the Supreme Court is a NO LOSE for our side, and likely the reason the Dems didn’t see a need to nuke it when they had the chance.
What does Smucky mean they have to be good canidates? You would have to search through an overturned gut wagon to find worse judges then Obama appointed.
