Who knew insulting people would prove an effective marketing campaign?
Fast food joint Wendys has a new social marketing strategy thats both hilarious and effective. I mean, were blogging about it, right?
The strategy is simple roast the dissent.
During my daily internetting yesterday, I saw this, which is seems to be tweet zero:
If you're going to shoot at @Wendys, you had better make sure you don't miss. pic.twitter.com/A47tnjUQtQ

For those not familiar with Twitter, heres the conversation explained:
That was only the beginning.
According to Business Insider, their account has not been hacked. Who knew insulting people would prove an effective marketing campaign?
No idea what this is about? Did Wendy’s do something wrong?
No, they just got such a good response for cleverly responding to a stupid tweet exchange that they seem to be milking the moment with some more “tough love”.
See the video in post 1. Explains it all.
Some jerk with more time on his hands than sense blasted Wendy’s for advertising that they never freeze their hamburger meat. Sarcastically stating that if they don’t freeze the meat, they must deliver it hot to the store.
Wendy’s responded by pointing out that the refrigerator exists to keep things cold, but not frozen.
Make Wendy’s Great Again!
Saw this article yesterday. http://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/2017/01/04/wendys-tweets-then-deletes-hate-symbol-meme.html
“But on Wednesday, Wendys tweeted, then deleted, an image of Pepe the Froga humanlike amphibian created by cartoonist Matt Furie also known as the “Sad Frog”dressed as the Wendys girl. In September, the Anti-Defamation League declared Pepe to be a hate symbol after its likeness was frequently used online by alt-right and white nationalist groups to express racist and anti-Semitic messages.”
It is way past time to say enough is enough. Nothing is going to change until people grow some balls and say a big FU to the butthurts. A picture of a cartoon frog is a “hate symbol”. Really. Wendys lost me as a customer because they won’t stand up to these idiots.
Not the biggest fan of Wendy’s, but that is funny.
They need a Troll Free menu.
That’s so funny that I may have to go eat there.
Just the other night I thought I would try the little cheeseburger at Wendy’s. I ordered my usual cheeseburger NO ketchup, repeated the NO ketchup. Guess what I got? A cheeseburger that the fry cook had opened up and scraped the ketchup off of. The red stain on the bun was the tattletale. It wasn’t hot and fresh either!
Of course I could have done a 180 and back tracked 5 miles to complain, but didn’t. I stoop to fast food maybe 3 times per year. Luckily I had the beast along for the ride and he gobbled the offending ketchup tainted C-burger and is forever grateful as a result. As luck would have it there was a Burger King up the road that did it right.
BTW this article reminded me that I have to lodge a formal complaint and I intend to do just that.
Hardee’s even gets it right.
Well, they got me to go to the Wendy’s Twitter account. Cap’n Crunch did the same thing a couple years ago. It was like someone from the lunatic asylum was running their Twitter account. It was funny.
With the cold weather here I made a pot of knock-off Wendy’s chili yesterday. Not bad.

Possibly cut back on the chili mix from 2 packs to 1.5.
Not a big fan of that, but this on the other hand is scrumptious:

They got some pretty witty stuff going on there!
Trollin’ the trolls pretty good
[Thats so funny that I may have to go eat there.]
Same here! They may be my new go to when a Chick Fil A is not available..
White vinegar? That’s interesting. I do like their chili.
Somebody with not many followers requests to be roasted.
“Have your 51 followers roast you.”
Hahahaha
