A federal judge on Tuesday ruled that Mumia Abu-Jamal should be provided new medications by the state to treat his hepatitis C infection.

[Snip]

The state has about 7,000 inmates with hepatitis C, and treating them - at a cost of $84,000 to $90,000 per person - would cost $600 million.

Abu-Jamal, a former Black Panther and sometime radio reporter, was found guilty of the Dec. 9, 1981, slaying [of a 25-year old police officer].

He was sentenced to death in 1982, but that sentence was overturned by a federal appeals court and reduced to life without parole.

The Obozo appointed libtard judge believes that we should pay another $90,000 each year to keep this cop killer alive because the thug still has a lot to contribute to society.

The virus is spread by contact with contaminated blood, for example, from sharing needles or from unsterile tattoo equipment.

I am retired and on Medicare. I have a Supplemental plan, F, that I pay for. Now almost $200/ no. I continue to work to just pay for medical plans about $400/mo. Why should he get a $90,000 treatment? He should get no more than what a Medicare participant receives. There are an army of generic drugs available that we receive that he should have access to. If he gets the $90,000, I want it also for no additional costs.

There’s a much cheaper treatment for this cop killer which is a sure cure for hepatitis C. Each dose costs less than a dollar and every police officer carries the delivery device.

Let the judge pay out of his pocket.

WHen are some STATE’S going to actually Use the POWER the USSC gave them in the KELO Decision and SIEZE the Property from Federal Employees, starting with this Judge, then Sell the properties for a profit to be used to PAY for these treatments.

The STATE can SIEZE Private Property for “Economic Gain” according to the Kelo Decision

Unfortunately, criminals in America, get the best healthcare money can buy. I know it sucks, and I wish it was different, but that’s reality. I wish this would be something Trump could put a stop to?

How would this “judge” rule on a disabled veteran?

Does this judge actually live in Pennsylvania?

If so, KELOing his house is an excellent idea!

I suspect though that as in most of these cases, he is safely ensconced thousands of miles from here.

Death penalty must be reinstated in every state. Why the hell should taxpayers have to pay for all this BS? Furthermore, they should be killed in the same manner they killed their victim.

It’s a wonderful scam for terrorists and criminals - live a hazardous life, get seriously ill, then let yourself get caught and do time in exchange for three hots and a cot and lots of expensive medical treatments.

IMHO, when incarcerated “for life, without...parole”, it means that any medical problems will not be addressed—their life ends a bit earlier than expected. Too damn bad!
