Fallout 4 is good training for the post-nuclear-apocalypse we will find ourselves in, in the next 2 weeks. :)

Elder Scrolls (Skyrim) seems to at least stay the same, but is usually better with each sequel.

“So there we have it. Nearly Five Years of Fallout and I still don’t know the proper way to play the hacking mini game. lol”

It’s basically a word game version of Mastermind. You guess a word, the computer tells you how many characters in the right place you got. Using that response you look for words in the screen that have letters in the similar spot until you get it right.

For example, let’s say the only three words t choose from were NAME, NAIL and LIME

If you guess the word NAME and get the response Likenesses: 2 then the words NAIL (NA similar) or LIME (ME similar) or could be correct.

You guess NAIL and the response Likenesses: 0 then you know LIME was correct.

True. There have always been those who figure out how to use lying, cheating and stealing in the procurement of worldly gains, until their time is over.

This narrative is far more interesting.

In my opinion, it is not nearly as bad as what any teen hears on any given day in school. Spoken as a former teen, not as a current parent! But if I was a parent, I would not have any problems with my kids playing it, assuming they were 16+. There are some F-bombs in there, but not many.

There are some cartoonish states of undress, but no nudity. No sex, to speak of -- the screen goes dark and you "wake up feeling refreshed." What "romance" there is, is innocuous.

There is plenty of violence, but it is not central to the gameplay. Much of it can largely be avoided, and the visual aspects (exploding heads, etc.) can be turned down in game settings.

To me, of greater concern to parents may be the bleak atmosphere, the moral choices your character must make, and the drug use. Drug use figures prominently in the game. In fact, some quests are built around it. But, these quests are thought-provoking, and definitely affect the outcome of the entire game. Themes such as loyalty, duty and "doing the right thing" are also prevalent, depending on how you play. What if I had chosen this way? Why did this faction react that way?

Those kind of questions, and the moral dilemmas faced by your character, are part of what makes the Fallout series such great games. And, maybe that is not such a bad thing for your young family members to experience?

There are plenty of videos of general gameplay out there, though, that will give you an idea of the more immediate aspects of the game. What your family members think about after playing, well... you would know better! :-)

RATagandists: “The Russians hacked the election.”

RAT to English Translation:

The Democrats tried to hack the election.

(but failed three times)

What a testament to these games, that people can see them and enjoy them in different ways. To me, Fallout 3 was a bleak, hostile world. Death was everywhere. Even in the few areas of relative peace, death was just outside the door.

Stepping outside the perspective of your character, that is, and into that of a "normal" person trying to survive. What would happen to the residents of Tenpenny Tower, for example, were they to stray much past the front gate? How about Megaton? Heck, you can see almost certain death from some parts of Rivet City!

But in New Vegas, at least in parts of it, well... one could almost live something of a normal life. Yes, there are the warring factions, and there is a definite sense of dread shared by many people. And danger is never too far away. But in New Vegas, it seems that one can avoid the worst of it, if one is careful and a little lucky.

In Fallout 3, well... not so much!

“’We've got our hands on all of them!’ Congressman says Republican lawmakers have their own set of Anthony Weiner’s 650,000 emails”

This ‘Russian hacked the election’ saturation is to divert what Congress has. Lord only knows how many Republicans are implicated. I can think of three that have had their mouths running about this.

This Russian hacked ruse is a replay of that Benghazi video scam, played upon the world after Hillry’s weapons got hijacked in Benghazi.
