The Fable of Edward Snowden
Wall Street Journal ^ | Dec. 30, 2016 | Edward Jay Epstein

Posted on 12/31/2016 5:54:51 PM PST by Robert DeLong

Of all the lies that Edward Snowden has told since his massive theft of secrets from the National Security Agency and his journey to Russia via Hong Kong in 2013, none is more provocative than the claim that he never intended to engage in espionage, and was only a “whistleblower” seeking to expose the overreach of NSA’s information gathering. With the clock ticking on Mr. Snowden’s chance of a pardon, now is a good time to review what we have learned about his real mission.

If this is true, and I see no compelling evidence to suggest it is, this shines a whole different light on my opinion of Snowden, and Wikileaks as well. Snowden is a traitor, not a whistleblower. Wikileaks is also an organization underserving of respect.

If it was true, it probably wouldn’t be in the wsj.

I do find the timing suspicious to be sure.

I find that Wall Street Journal links from FR tend to result in that subscription BS, Below is a link to google by way of searching for the title, which tends to present the entire article.

Trying clicking here and then the link in google linking to the article

I think you should re-read that and decide if it is really what you meant to say.

It does not seem to be the proper argument for your change of opinion.

I think this is just an attempt to discredit Snowden in the event that Trump brings Snowden back to the US and Snowden releases all that he has.

I feel sorry for anyone who cannot plainly see that Snowden is a Russian spy, recruited 'honey trap' style. Have you seen his "girlfriend". If she isn't a classic Russian recruit used as a honey trap, I DON'T KNOW WHO IS.

Where does Snowden live now? RUSSIA!

Where does Snowden live now? RUSSIA!

Where does Snowden live now? RUSSIA!

Just keep repeating it until it sinks in.

That does not change the fact that the one thing our NSA is good at is spying on US citizens. The way they are able to bully businesses into giving them access to info would make the Stasi or old KGB blush.

*** I feel sorry for anyone who cannot plainly see that Snowden is a Russian spy ***

Even if true,he garners more sympathy than my Lizard Overlords in DC. The list of offenses committed by my government against
it’s citizens outweighs (for me) any offense by Russia’s Government against me.

Snowden lives in Russia because Russia is the only place he can live without being in a US jail. He has tried to leave and the US has stopped every plane thought to carry him. From my way of thinking from the very start. I trust Snowden. My country lies and spies a great deal. Snowden pointed it out and gave proof. Our country is no better than Russia when it comes to spying. It just has more pretense of telling the truth, but I assure you it does not have more truth.

The “hacks” from the DNC simply show truth. In both cases the American people learned something it did not know and should know. And the government lied to cover it up. If I were President I would pardon Snowden on my first day in office, not my last.

I hope he has a wonderful New Years eve in Russia, with a beautiful woman. The NSA turned from an external military spy agency, into a domestic internal Stasi.

They hate him for exposing that, and they fill their newspapers with such articles.

Interesting timing of the article given the fact that Direct Tv has the movie Snowden on their list at this time. Many of the reviewers are calling him a true patriot on IMBD.

I would trust Edward Snowden and his motives much more readily than ANYTHING Edward J. Epstein has to say. His book INQUEST came out in ‘78, and is still regarded as a partial Gospel by people too lazy to have delved very deeply in the assassination of JFK. He is one of many disinformation specialists and the fact that his book came out 15 years after the event, suggests that it was intended to quell the rising tide of AUTHENTIC and INDEPENDENT research as to who in fact was behind the assassination. There have been many like Epstein, both before and after him.All you will ever need to know about the assassination can be found in Vincent Salandria’s COPA speech from the 90s, called False Mystery. It’s online. Epstein is and was a CIA asset. It is fitting also that he is associated with M.I.T. , which was put on the map by another “Gatekeeper” and fake “Radical” and fearless “Independent Thinker” , Noam Chomsky.

One more thing, Mr. De Long, that I forgot to mention, is that it looks like Snowden has taken the place of Oswald , 38 years later-—Epstein’s model for assessing the true identity of Snowden follows lick for lick his bogus assessment of the true identity of LHO, right down to the “Russian girlfriend/wife template. He is a liar-for-hire..
