Haphazard feet and confused faces begin spilling, filling the downtown Greyhound station.

As I walked down the streets of Laredo
I saw a bunch of Mexicans there,
I could tell by their outfits that they were illegals
but for some reason nobody cared.
Shouldn’t they be arrested by local law enforcement and returned to INS?

This happens almost every night in any major city near an ICE detention center. The detainees would usually be met by some kind of friendly local, immigrant rights association to facilitate their next steps.
I used to work for ICE and I use to do the release paperwork for a busload or two every day.
No, I did not feel good about it and yes, I left that employment.

Does not have to be ICE detention center. We would catch them one night in S Texas (I mean middle of no where S Texas) turn them over to BP and they would be at the bus stop in Falfurrias by the HEB in the morning. The only detention center was F13 and F1 which are both BP detention center in Falfurrias. They were kicked there by orders from above before even processed by ICE.
I guess really our NOimmigration system is all one big happy family now. Can electronically zip paper back and forth between all agencies.
Last time I was in Laredo some Mexican guy thought I was a hooker and propositioned me.
