RIP, Princess Leia.
60 is just too young.
My mom died at 56, so far I have made it to 68.
“I cant for the life of me understand why it is droned on about for days and weeks when one of them die....They are no more important to me than the local clerk at Walmart.”

I think the reason is pretty simple: your Walmart clerk hasn’t been a worldwide celebrity and film icon since the 1970s.
That’s not to discount his (or “her”) importance to his family and friends or in the general sense of ‘for whom the bell tolls” when anyone departs this earthly plane.
It’s because they made an impact on us at some point in our lives (probably while we were young) and we associate them with us at that time.

The survival rate for persons suffering a heart attack that occurs outside a hospital is less than six percent. The article also details the important distinction between a heart attack and cardiac arrest. An AED doesn’t fix the blockage that causes a heart attack.

...
Correct. Arrest is when the heart stops beating. However, many people survive attacks, which involves a blockage and some tissue damage. Some people don’t even know they’ve had a heart attack.
We don’t know what Fisher had, although it was almost certainly an arrest. We don’t know the cause. It could have been a massive heart attack, or a complication of heart failure.
Alan Thicke who was first reported to have had a heart attack actually died from aortic dissection that led to a rupture.
Your tag line sounds harsh but completely justified.
That’s scary about the aortic dissection. I had a spontaneous carotid artery dissection 13 years ago at age 50. It healed on its own and I took Plaquenil for 6 months after that. The docs had no explanation for it other than the strange cold I had 2 weeks prior, as the virus may have caused a weakening in the arterial wall.

Yup. And while the loss of someone you know from your everyday doings is saddening, it’s not going to go much further than the local obit column. And they wont stop the presses just to include it.
So, I guess the lesson is - if there is one - appreciate the persons and things that have added meaning to your life while they’re still around.
A really violent sneeze or cough can cause it. Glad you recovered.
Massive heart attack .....most don’t come back
Just a matter of fact.
Yes. Either they didn’t want her to have her yahrzeit at Christmas or they just needed to gather everyone there to release her. I understand. They had no idea. She was on a strong up swing lately. Not fair.
“She was on a strong up swing lately. Not fair.”
Similar to Karen Carpenter, who was just turning the corner to conquer her eating disorder. Sadly, the damage had been done.
Thanks for pointing out that song -- I was unaware of it. Just read the lyrics and they are powerful. Must check out the video.
Very sorry to her she has passed. Rest in Peace Carrie.
Thank-you and God Bless.
She didn’t make it.
RIP.
She looked and sounded like twice baked s**t, no surprise to me.
Her 84 y/o mother looked WAAAYYYYYY better than she did, and that’s no joke.
RIP. Too bad so many of these types can’t handle fane and fortune.
