Carrie Fisher died Tuesday morning ... days after suffering a massive heart attack on board a flight from London to LAX ... a family spokesperson has confirmed. Fisher died Tuesday morning ... days after suffering the heart attack. People on the plane performed CPR on Carrie and once the flight landed, paramedics rushed her to UCLA Medical Center on Friday. Carrie had been on a publicity tour for her new book, "The Princess Diarist." The book recently made headlines because she wrote about having an affair with co-star Harrison Ford while shooting the original 'Star Wars' movies.
Of course, Princess Leia was her iconic role, but Carrie also starred in "The Blues Brothers," "When Harry Met Sally," "Postcards from the Edge" and many, many more. She famously battled substance abuse throughout her life. In 2013, she was hospitalized for complications from bipolar disorder. Carrie is survived by her daughter, Billie Lourde, her brother, Todd Fisher, and sisters Tricia and Joely Fisher. Billie made an appearance alongside her mom in 'The Force Awakens.' Carrie was 60.
Sad news.
RIP
Peter Griffin’s boss at Pawtucket Brewery!
Yikes. I guess it just caught up with her.
I thought it was a bad sign when it was first reported she stopped breathing for 6 minutes even before cpr was started.
Expect the story to change many times under this link. A few minutes from now it could be totally changed..except that she is dead.
So sad. Forces you to reflect that your life can end at any minute. Do your best to take care of yourself.
Oh wow!
I’ll always remember her as Princess Leia, when I first saw her at 8 years old.
Maybe an expert can weigh in but I think about 6 minutes is it ..and then you are brain dead
Rest in Peace, Princess.
I watched The Force Awakens just last night. Time was not being good to her, though she did look more like her mother than when she was younger.
This is sad news.
They are still making jokes about sex and Princess Leia. Just saw in on Life in Pieces where Tom Hanks son wanted his wife to wear the braids.
It’s hard to believe she was 2 years older than me.
Isn’t she also survived by her mother? Strange omission
Very sad to hear about this. RIP Princess Leia. Also remember her in “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “When Harry Met Sally”.
Expect the story to change many times under this link.
Seems every time a famous entertainer suddenly dies young, they have substance abuse in their background. I hope this is a lesson that is learned by the masses. You can either have a long life or do drugs. Your choice.
So sad. RIP Carrie.
