Moore has been wrong about a great many things over the years. This is just one more in a long list.

You can read some of Mr. Moore’s thoughts on Donald Trump here:

“Wasn’t Moore an open borders advocate - pro illegal immigrant?”

Yes, he was - here’s a sample in his own words:

“There are upwards of 12 million undocumented immigrants in this country right now, and many more in the Latino community who came here legally. If our response to them is to absorb the nativism and bigotry of some elements of society around us, we are showing them a vision of what the Bible calls “the flesh” rather than the Spirit. If our churches ignore the nations around us who are living in our own communities, we will reflect 1970s Bible Belt America rather than the kingdom of God which is made up of those from every tribe, tongue, nation, and language (Rev. 7:9).”

“It is easy to lash out at undocumented immigrants as “law-breakers,” and to cite Romans 13 as reason to simply call for deportation and retribution. But this issue is far more complicated... blah blah blah (more at link)

He is for suppression of the confederate battle flag. He claims Trump is a racist and sexist. He is in favor of mass moslem and Mexican immigration. And he is in the biblical inerrancy crowd that took over the church in the late 80s.
The impulse that he is right in that is the exact opposite of reality.
The fundamentalists vs the Baptist church battle was always cast as liberals vs conservatives. Nothing could be more wrongly stated.
The fundamentalist takeover, of which he was a part, was a move to centralize power in the Baptist church. It went against many very traditional Baptist beliefs. They would have you believe they were rooting out “liberalism”. But this is really slicked back hair, “the earth is 4000 years old” nutballs, attacking the normal Baptist church I knew for decades before.

"To back Mr. Trump, these voters must repudiate everything they believe," Moore said.

There were...pastors and friends who told me when they read my comments they thought I was criticizing anyone who voted for Donald Trump.

Uh, Russell, I don't see how you can characterize your statement as anything other than a criticism of anyone who voted for Donald Trump. Stop with the mealy-mouthed "I really didn't mean what I said" BS. Just own up to it and apologize.

The article says nothing of substance and is an attack on the personality and success of Donald J. Trump.

Russell is a leftist liberal charlatan masquerading as a pious conservative hitched to the Southern Baptists. And that makes him all the worst.

If you don’t really apologize, then I don’t have to forgive.

Repent and let me forgive you. God doesn’t even forgive without repentance.

He’s also against Confederate flags and has “apologized” for slavery, I believe.

Moore is a big reason I left the SBC and joined a bible church. I did not want my tithe funding these kind of activities. I watched a former pastor join Obama's faith-based team and it did not go well. Good intentions, but the change never evolved and there was never any desire on the administration's part to change.

Circlecity, SBC membership has been declining for years. Have your leadership team investigate the reasons before joining.

His response was to the threat of loss of funding and that only the dumbest of his flock (<16) value in his election advice. This is from Moore’s ‘Q & A’ blogging forum:

“Is Divorce Equivalent to Homosexuality?”

Russell Moore is clearly an infiltrator of the church as well as conservatism.

Here’s one for you Rusty, assuming your search engine ever leads you to real conservatism.

Are Russell Moore’s beliefs in line with Tony Podesta? It’s rumored that they both like to play dominoes with their cheese pizza.

Indeed. I learned early in my marriage that saying “I am sorry you feel that way” does not count as an apology.

..Moore stepped in it and the SBC knows it. Many Southern Baptists like myself switched our support to DJT when we really LOOKED at what Mr Trump stood for. Life, religious liberty—it was a no brainer...

Wiki: "...In the early 1990s, prior to entering the ministry, Moore was an aide to U.S. Representative Gene Taylor of Mississippi, a Democrat..." Yep, he worked for that two-faced, lying scum Gene (from New Orleans) Taylor who voted for and supported Nasty Pelosi as Speaker.

Russell Moore is a lefty rat who supported the party of abortion and anti-American activity for decades. He's a mole within the SBC who promotes the leftist agenda.

Unfortunately, my young and naive pastor follows his council too closely.
