Austrian police will distribute 6,000 pocket alarms on New Year's Eve to help prevent incidents like the mass sex assaults in neighbouring Germany a year ago, the interior ministry said on Tuesday. "It's a national campaign aimed primarily at women on New Year's Eve," ministry spokesman Karl-Heinz Grundboeck told AFP.
If activated, the free gadgets will emit a shrill sound aimed at chasing away potential aggressors, he added.

Imagine the sound of 6,000 rape whistles all going off at once. The Keystone cops will again do nothing.
Might be better to pass out 6000 pistols along with ammo, might serve them better. Just my 2 cents.
A more direct approach would be to arm the women and pick up a few of the Muslim youts and make examples of them for the rest of the animals.
Just turn a few hundred goats loose in the streets.
If there are rape alarms down every corridor, you can’t pinpoint all the victims, the sound will just be everywhere. And there won’t be enough manpower to go around.
Give them a pistol or at least a vial of acid (ok, maybe just pepper spray but it’s a less effective deterrent against an attacker and doesn’t leave an identifying mark days later in a lineup).
Better to lock up 6000 Muslims instead
My first thought. How many women will be raped and maimed before they figure it out? I just returned home from a week in Paris and this trip every little socialist thing struck me like a huge, glaring neon sign. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful archetectture. All the Frenchmen we had conversations with (and that was several a day) ASKED US about Trump. He’s a big unknown to them and they volunteered their hatred for Obama and Clinton. They blame Obama for destabilizing the middle east and making their ives a mess from immigration. We were shocked at how when they found out we were Americans they wanted to unload on us about war-mongers Clinton and Obama.
These would be cheap enough!

They make Glocks in Austria. I’d like to see 6,000 Glocks on the street New Year’s Even and 6,000 rape alarms. We’ll see which of the two is more effective.

Why do only 6,000 people matter?
The ONLY rape alarm needed.
I guess getting to the root of the problem isn’t an option.
Pepper spray would be a better idea.
Put six thousand Glocks, an Austrian product after all, with two loaded magazines each into the hands of a like number of young and attractive Austrian women and the problem would be sorted out well before New Year.
Having a gun is not enough. You must also have the will to use it. Many don’t.
They should have handed out real weapons.
