The article suggsts appointing Heitkamp to agriculture for the sake of diversity—that would be a very good move from the point of view of the Senate.
Good. I dont care if the whole cabinet is green as long as they are the best most effective people.
I am more interested in diversity of IDEAS than I am in diversity of skin tones, genders, accents, etc.
And I value UNITY OF PURPOSE more than I do any meaningless catch phrase such as DIVERSITY.

When I get on board a Boeing Jet to travel international waters, I really don’t care what RACE or GENDER the oerson is in the cockpit, as long as he has had hours of proven experience and knows what to do with the controls.. This is one job, we don’t need racial definitions.
Trump has not picked any Marxists for his cabinet either. We don’t always need “diversity.” We need competence. I want the opposite of 0bama’s cabinet.

The Democrats’ version of diversity is where people have to look different but all think like them.
Diversity is not important, but qualifications are important.
I remember when Jesse Jackson would come visit and tell us there need to be more diversity (more blacks) in tech. When he visited us, we specifically said we hire the most qualified for the position and we can prove it. All documentation during the interview/hiring process is kept forever. Just in case we got hit with a lawsuit years after the fact.
He felt we should help minorities by hiring them and training them. The CEO retorted if Jackson had pushed education and not the feeling of entitlement upon his people decades prior, - there would be more blacks in the professional work place and at executive levels. Jesse continued to talk his BS, it was like watching a dog chase his tail.
“Diversity” is not the same thing as “competence” and/or “qualified” & we have the last 8 years as proof positive. If Trump’s cabinet turned out to be all old white men who are qualified and competent & could straighten out the mess Obama & his boobs got us into, it would suit me just fine.
Diversity = 1/Competence
Competence = 1/Diversity
Look at the race of football fans. They’re white. They want to win. Their teams are black, not diverse.
I’m getting sick and tired of winning.
