They used to invoke a transmission medium for electromagnetic waves and they dubbed it the aether...lol

These days we call it WI-FI.

Professor Lisa Randall studies theoretical particle physics and cosmology at Harvard University.

You need an Associates degree just to know what it is she studies. Sheesh. I guess my guidance councilor failed me.

This reminds me of the medical joke that as soon as someone discovers a new medical condition or disease, you know that within a few years, they’ll identity famous people who likely died of it.

I believe I need detention.

Think about that first. Detention (in my experience) involved staying after school in 'detention hall', which was usually monitored by some random teacher (the one who drew the Joker out of the deck).

I would go for 'private in-home tutoring'.

I thought it said cosmetology.

Well, she was talking about the 'makeup' of things.

There is no ‘dark matter’. There is just matter.

But we know that there are more dimensions than just the four we can immediately observe so it makes sense that matter that we can observe in four dimensions also has properties that are expressed in dimensions we can’t observe.

I propose that dark matter isn’t separate from the matter we can see but that it is really just the extradimensional aspects of the matter we can see.

There are over 500 FLOOD Legends worldwide, many of those going back to the most ancient of known civilizations (eg: Sumeria) and they probably got those from previous, but unknown to us, civilizations.

Scientists have speculated that a large meteorite hit Earth, and wiped out most life forms. AND.... that this type of event has happened at least 6 times.

Dark matter, IMO, is just a fudge factor to make gravitational rotations come out right. I don't think it will end up like the cosmological constant which Einstein refused to accept for a long time until he was forced to adopt it.  IOW, I think there will be a non-black matter explanation.

As for this ---
we’ll never know for sure what did it.
--- be careful with that kind of thinking.  Bear in mind the head of the US Patent Office who, near the turn of the last century, said they should close up the USPO because everything that can be invented, had been.

Or closer to the thrust of the thread, prominent scientist Auguste Comte, who wrote in 1842 that it was impossible we should ever know the composition of stars.  Less than thirty years later, the science of spectroscopy was developed.

Dark matter is a theory, yes, and may be wrong. But it is offered to explain a fact, which won’t go away.

Evolution is also a fact. Creationism’s flailings do not make the fact go away.

If it’s a constant, it’s not a variable, and vice versa.

If you’re refering to that creature standing at the lectern in Reply 1; all I can say is, they’ve certainly lowered the bar on the requirements for being a “babe”. Maybe I’m too picky.
