High-capacity magazine ban a must for Nevadans’ safety (barf alert)
Las Vegas Sun ^ | 11 dec 2016

By overwhelmingly supporting universal background checks for firearms purchases, Clark County voters made it abundantly clear last month that they were concerned about gun violence.

Now, it’s time for Las Vegas-area lawmakers to go a step further to protect Nevadans and push to ban the sale of high-capacity magazines in the state.

Eight states and the District of Columbia already have imposed such prohibitions, and with good reason. There’s simply no legitimate civilian use for magazines that hold dozens upon dozens of rounds of ammunition.

Don’t believe us? Fine, then listen to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo.

“I’m a very avid hunter, I was in the military myself, and there’s no need to have a high-capacity magazine for any practical reason,” Lombardo said during a recent interview with the Sun.

To the contrary, the dangers posed by such magazines are obvious. Lombardo says the time it takes for suspects to change magazines gives potential victims an opportunity to escape and law enforcement officials an opportunity to safely fire back. That being the case, the fewer times a shooter has to switch out magazines, the fewer the chances for people to get away and authorities to get a protected shot.

Only one thing to do. Give Las Vegas to California. Yesterday.

“Only one thing to do. Give Las Vegas to California. Yesterday.”

Only problem is where Las Vegas goes Nevada goes.
I have property on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe and like to drop in to Carson City for ammo/magazines or any other accessories that catch my fancy.

I was at a Walmart in Carson City shopping and picked up a couple of boxes of 44 mag. that were on sale. There were a couple of of fellows there looking for .22lr. I told them that Sportsmans on Hi-way 50 as you enter in to Carson had some available.

The conversation turned to Prop 1 that was on the ballot. I said you have to stop it now before there is a foothold for restrictions. I said I am Kali and that crap flows east.

Next thing they will want is mag restrictions (sound familiar) then AW registration, then a “bullet button” then a hand gun roster that shrinks each year so there is less and less you can buy.

They looked at me like I was some sort of fire breathing radical preaching doom and gloom looking at me with a “Naaawhh that won't ever happen here”

People never learn. Hopefully Trump can put a real kink in the anti’s action.

Taking lessons in public morality from a city founded upon mob money, mob violence, with a history of promoting gambling & prostitution, really doesn’t go down well with the rest of America.

Nothing says GFY to anti-gunners like this product. I think AmmoClaus is going to have to drop a few of these in my stocking this year.

And why not ban them! Everyone knows the first rounds are nothing but noisemakers! It is the bottom ten rounds that kills people!

Snark.

I think the fastest way to kill this nonsense is to not permit *anyone* to have high capacity magazines, including the police and security guards at casinos.

Imagine their utter panic that they absolutely *need* high capacity magazines or else the police and casinos would be “sitting ducks”.

A magazine holding that many rounds would be gross.

Protect Nevadans against whom?

Fine. Replace all those auto loaders your Department uses with 6 shot revolvers.
