Obama is pro ISIS.

So exactly what will these 200 be up to?

Trying to get a shot at Assad is a good guess.

Could someone, anyone, explain what side we are on, who we are fighting, and what the goal is, what with Syria, Syrian Rebels, ISIS, the Qatar/Turkey Pipeline and God knows what other conflicting interests are in that region of insanity?

So what is so bad about Assad, besides he’s against the pipeline that HiLIARy has been trying to push?

President Trump needs to bring all of our men back on January 20, 2017. We should not be in Syria trying to destabilize the strongest side, not when the second strongest side is ISIS terrorists.

Maybe O is trying to take Assad down (personally)
so he can claim victory in Syria (which would only result in more chaos) before he leaves office.

What happened to “no boots on the ground”? Where are all the ‘60s flower children protesting to shut down this “undeclared war”? Oh right, their guy is in the Whitehouse right now. I forgot that progressives are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.

Yet another violation of international law by 0bama.

No different than Putin sending 200 troops to Miami, Chicago, or LA.

I consider myself well informed because I spend hours reading FR, but I have absolutely no idea what we’re doing in Syria. Seriously.

More human shields to interfere with Russian and Syrian operations vs the head choppers

Btw what is our SOF agreement with ...... ???? to station US troops in SYRIA? I must have missed the congressional debate over sending other people’s kids fathers and husbands to die in SYRIA to protect ISIS and Al Qaeda ?

He’s a pain in the arse to hegemony goals of saudi qatar and turkey to establish sunni dominance over this region

It’s more than a pipeline, that is just symbol of which tribes which ideology and whose banks dominate the region

Assad’s secular/ Alawite papa had longstanding ties to shia Iran as a counter force to radical Wahhabism and Iran bankrolled the assad regime with oil for many decades

during which Russia was also a Syrian ally to counter the U.S. and Israeli alliance

Assad sr, Qadaffi and Iran challenged saudi/ gulf dominance of opec many times - and you see what happened to Qadaffi

It’s an elaborate geopolitical ballet embracing many shades of Islam, military strategy, and political arrangements driven by western economic interests

Since obama bowed to the house of Saud, it’s obvious our military is expected to support whatever brutes and barbarians can be imported into SYRIA or otherwise hired to take down Assad ... So we train and arm Al Qaeda and ISIS and a ragtag kaleidoscope of 7th century tribal militia Chiefs who yearn for sharia

Assad and Putin really ought to have been Time’s men of the year for blocking Syria from rolling over into chaos and theocratic anarchy which is the strategy the U.S. has chosen to pursue -

Another guess us that they are needed to facilitate the continued supply of US weapons and intelligence to islamist radicals

Now that obama directed and authorized ( he has a pen) such supply of weapons to “ foreign forces’ operating in Syria

How are we supplying weapons to such distasteful barbaric “ allies” as 4 days ago shelled a Russian field hospital attempting to treat civilians in Aleppo, killing 2 nurses and gravely injuring a chief pediatric doctor ?
Perhaps some insight?
