Only 4 states can stop vote fraud

'No systematic oversight of the system' exists

The raging debate about voter fraud has been hijacked by the left, says a leading expert on the issue, and the left is driving the narrative in a false direction using slick deception.

The question is: What will President-elect Donald Trump do about it?

When people think about “voter fraud,” they tend to think about the dead voting, people voting in multiple precincts or party machines paying homeless people to cast ballots.

While those are all legitimate concerns, the mass fraud happens long before the vote is cast – at the point of registration – says Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation and co-author of the book, “Who’s Counting? How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote at Risk.”

By centering the debate on “voter ID” laws, the left has been able to divert attention away from the real source of the problem – lax voter-registration laws.

Only seven states have strict photo ID voter laws. But even these are not enough to stop non-citizen green-card holders from illegally registering to vote and providing their driver’s licenses when they show up to cast a fraudulent vote.

Only 4 states require proof of citizenship to register

The heart of the matter comes down voter registration, which is based on an “honor system,” Spakovsky said. “Nobody is checking to make sure those registering to vote are citizens.”

Right now, there are only four states that require residents to provide proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, when they register to vote. Those states are Alabama, Arizona, Georgia and Kansas – all of which backed Trump in November.

Only seven states have strict photo ID requirements for voting, but even that won’t stop the most common form of voter fraud.

The left is freaking out over the prospect of Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions becoming attorney general.

“In 2011, Spakovsky was serving on the Fairfax County Electoral Board and personally witnessed mass voter-registration fraud.

“We discovered 278 registered in just that one county, and we took them off the rolls and sent the names to the Obama Justice Department [at the time headed by Eric Holder], and they did nothing about it,” Spakovsky said. “Here was 278 cases of potential voter fraud, and they did nothing to investigate it.

“I predict Sessions will take this seriously. I think he understands what an issue this is.”

There’s much work to be done at the state level, too, if the system is to be cleaned up.

Since it’s entirely legal for non-citizens, living in the U.S. legally with green cards, to have drivers’ licenses, the voter ID laws alone are not sufficient to wipe out fraudulent voting.

A green-card holder simply has to lie on his voter registration application, check the box claiming to be a citizen, and he’s a registered voter. There is no system in place to validate that he checked the citizenship box in good faith.”

It hasn’t been made clear to me why the Federal Government cannot now pass a Federal law requiring proof of citizenship to vote in a Federal election. I’m sure the screaming from the Left would be epic, and they would start frantically judge-shopping to get injunctions against the law, but the process needs to be started - even if it ends up at the Supreme Court.

How about the left embrace voter ID, then theread will be no need for the leftists to run recounts. But of course, you can’t expect the leftists to be logical. If they had half a brain, they would agree with the right on many issues.

It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything

*******************************************

Now is the time to enact some federal election standards. We will never get a better chance.
We need voter ID laws, proof of citizenship, and STOP the same day registration.

I think that states should also be required to purge the dead from their voter rolls.

Vote fraud could stop in a heart beat if DJT would listen to Newt’s suggestion and contract the process of elections to Pay Pal, Stub Hub, FedEx or any of the many digital companies that handle billions of business transactions a day, flawlessly.

Because there is no “Federal election”. There are state elections and it should stay that way. What is needed for the federal government and courts to stay out f the elections including ID requirements.

This country needs to go to the German system of voter ID,or something very much like it.If you’re not a citizen, you don’t get to vote.

When I retired to Arizona in late 2014, I registered to vote there. I know I didn't have a passport of birth certificate with me when I registered. If I showed anything, it would have been my new AZ driver's license, which I got by giving up my Alaska driver's license. When I moved back to Alaska, I registered to vote there again. I recently went to the voter registration office in AZ and found they had never purged me from the rolls after I moved back to Alaska. So AZ has a ways to go before they eliminate possible avenues for DNC voter fraud.

This recount makes for the perfect time to introduce some sort of voter integrity legislation. We have 16 digit credit card numbers and can check a purchase online seconds after the transaction. Why can't each American citizen have a voter number which is entered into a data base like a credit card purchase upon voting? Each election, the number could be used only once, like a concert ticket. No voter numbers for non-citizens, the deceased, etc. So far we haven't had a majority of so-called leaders who want to eliminate voter fraud. With Trump at the helm, we just might.

Dems would win very few elections if there were exactly one vote per legal voter, even with their lying about their positions and promises.

based on an “honor system,” Spakovsky said. “Nobody is checking ... only four states require .. proof of citizenship .. Georgia

Honor system negates proof of citizenship. When I changed my drivers license and voter registration from IL to GA I was asked for multiple documents to prove I lived where I said I lived (2 blocks from the DMV office). My DD214 shows my SSN and that I'm a citizen. But they never checked my DD214 for citizenship. They unilaterally announced they would not accept it as proof of SSN. They ultimately waived proof of SSN. Of course, legal aliens can have legit SSNs. So SSN check proves nothing. They never asked for proof of citizenship.

Likewise when my daughters changed from IL to GA. Since her mother was an illegal alien she could have been a dreamer for all the DMV knew.

Conclusion: DMV bureaucrats don't care, not in Democrat IL; not in Republican GA.

A significant pivot is Sen Chris Dodd's HAVA-Help America Vote Act. HAVA bribes state and local election officials into contracting with friends of Chris Dodd for both Hardware and software. It is now the primary responsibility of that software to determine who can and cannot get registered.

The responsibility no longer rests with the DMV bureaucrat. If computer can override what the bureaucrat determines to be reality, why should the bureaucrat make waves that will be unsuccessful?

But Republican election officials sure like that FREE MONEY from Friends of Chris Dodd. It sure beats being accountable to the legislators for the money.

What is needed for the federal government and courts to stay out f the elections including ID requirements.

I.e. get rid of motor voter, voting rights act oversight legacies and other Obama DOJ nonsense and LET the GOP dominated states fix their own systems. Without Fed opposition much could be done in half the states rapidly and in half the rest incrementally to limit the Rats to just their hard blue core. Which isn't enough to achieve federal power and which can't survive as is without federal subsidies.

Good point. Also next level technology involving Bitcoin and the blockchain would provide a verifiable, transparent and un-hackable means by which a voting system could be developed. Add picture ID and a blue finger dipped in ink to prevent multiple votes.
This is not difficult, but the left wants to make it impossible in order to facilitate their cheating.

I wonder if Trump won really by double digits in the popular vote.

There are 62 counties in New York State.

Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16.

Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 4 counties accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.
