Trump's Carrier Is Not Obama's Solyndra
American Thinker ^ | December 4, 2016 | Daniel John Sobieski

No sooner had president-elect Trump announced a deal had been reached with air conditioner manufacturer Carrier to keep 1,100 manufacturing jobs in Indiana rather than being shipped to Mexico, the usual suspects began chattering about “corporate welfare”, “crony capitalism”, and the hypocritical picking of winners and losers.

Carrier is an established business, not a pipe dream like the green energy failures President Obama subsidized like Solyndra. It is one of many U.S. businesses struggling to survive in the Obama era of high taxes and oppressive regulation. Trump has promised to cut corporate taxes and eliminate oppressive and job-killing regulations, but he is not president just yet. The Carrier package of tax incentives he helped negotiate is but a down payment on this promise. All companies will soon be freed from the shackles of job-killing taxes and regulations. They will not have to game the system by threatening to go to Mexico. Trump’s tax and regulation cuts will create the fertile business environment that will allow them to stay and grow profitably.

The deal puts money in the hands of a U.S. business which will use it to grow, and in the hands of 1,100 employees who will give their families a Merry Christmas. They will get paychecks instead of unemployment checks and food stamps. The $7 million over a decade is dwarfed by the economic and human costs of not making the deal.

When my HVAC goes, I’ll definitely look at Carrier first.

Obama era of high taxes and oppressive regulation.

Obama is not the blame for higher taxes and regulations. These have been around for ever. Big Caps love regulations because it keeps the upstart riff raff out of the way. Kills competition which is the goal of every corporation.

Carrier, and they are not the only ones to do this by any means, was counting on paying Paco Sanchez $3.00/hr in a newly built state of the art plant in Mexico. Paco was going to live in a un air conditioned pueblo and ride his burrow to work to make, ironically, air conditioners. Paco will thank his gringo masters for not having to go to 'merica do get a job as an illegal. Carrier was cutting Indianan Frank Wilson at 20.00/hr out of the equation. The difference in labor costs to be pocketed by Carrier. Carrier knew it could load their product on a train and ship them duty free because the Uniparty has been bought off.

So the key to globalization and offshoring is to keep those tariffs rates at historic lows. Globalist do this by corrupting the Uniparty via K Street. This is the new fascism.

Unfortunately for them their is new Sheriff in town. Raising tariffs will be the key to the USA' economic survival.

More tariffs and less income taxes.

It just occurred to me that the Carrier deal is a two-fer for conservatives. Not only does this American company remain in the country providing America with jobs, it provides air conditioners for its citizens which is a slap to the wacko environmentalists. Air conditioners have been deemed more dangerous than terrorism by John Kerry, who served in Vietnam . (Of course the elites should be allowed to have air conditioners. Just not us little people.)

Something else to consider. It is not just the jobs at Carrier, but the jobs at the companies that Carrier buys from as well. Every manufacturing company has suppliers of products that goes into the construction of the final product.

I just heard that line on Fox News Sunday. They always fail to mention NAFTA, an fatal economic dynamic inserted by the government, not the Free Market.

Was Solyndra a scam? (I don’t know. Just asking.)

Think of the economic multiplier effect here. Carrier is going to upgrade that factory. Spending 16 million to do so. Then all the contractors will spend even more money in IA. Local retail and service providers will still have customers. It is win win all the way around. The big loser are globalist "Conservatives", drug dealers and psychiatrists.

Faux Bidness Snooze is very concerned. LOL.

To put the two together is laughable. For starters, Carrier actually makes things and employs people.

I think that is the point that Sarah (God bless her) is missing.

Solyndra had a product that wasn’t working. That was high risk venture capital. Carrier is a blue chip established firm, with 100 years of history, cash flow and success. This comparison is bogus.

That is not the Trump plan. Tariffs are just a tactic to get everyone to shed their trade barriers, subsidies and manipulations. Therefore they have to be high and we wouldn’t get much revenue from them.

They want unilateral free trade. We get rid of our trade barriers, we are ok if they only cut some of theirs. That’s a job sucker but the globalists don’t want to fight back.

It is also why most Nato countries don’t pay their share...what are we gonna do about it? Leave Nato??? Yeah!!

“...the globalists don’t want to fight back.”

The globalists want to destroy the United States for all time.

The United States, for them, is merely a very temporary disruption to tyranny. Throughout the history of mankind, the vast majority of people have lived under tyranny with very short lifespans. Now, they want tyranny consolidated through technology into the hands of a few.

That remains to be seen.

In order for the latter to happen, it's going to take vigilance on the part of Trump non-ass-kissers. If a President can cut a deal with an individual corporation, that is the very definition of cronyism.

The real question is will Ryan and McConnell expand whatever deal Trump cut with Carrier to ALL corporations.

Until that happens, the American Thinker can shove its disdain for the "usual suspects" up its ass.

It's going to take the usual suspects to hold President Trump's feet to the fire.

The MSM had not one word of criticism about Solyndra, even after the officers got the bankruptcy court to give them bonuses. Then the FBI gathered and destroyed all of Solyndra’s records. No corruption here.
