Trump Team Says He Backs Disputed Dakota Access Oil Pipeline
NYT's ^ | 12/2/16 | ap

WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald Trump supports completion of the disputed Dakota Access oil pipeline in the Midwest, a policy that a spokesman says is not related to Trump's investments in a partnership building the $3.8 billion pipeline.

Spokesman Bryan Lanza says in a memo to supporters Trump's backing for the pipeline near a North Dakota Indian reservation "has nothing to do with his personal investments" and is based on policy.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of the memo.

Trump's federal disclosure forms show he owned a small amount of stock in Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners, the pipeline builder, and at least $100,000 in Phillips 66, which owns one-quarter of the pipeline.

Of course he back the pipeline, anyone with half a brain backs the pipeline.

The pipeline company help over 350 meetings with tribes and took care to bypass sacred grounds. The pipeline crosses a river 92 FEET BELOW the riverbed.

There is absolutely zero danger of an oil release there. Zero.

This whole thing is nothing but disruptors and hippies who protest everything.

Move on.

As far as I know, it’s already been approved and it’s just dealing with the folks standing in the path of the contractors.

I'm not sure. Which pipeline is it that spells the doom of civilization?

If you own a mutual fund or ETF based on the S&P 500, you own part of Phillips 66.

Anyone with a sufficiently diversified portfolio is likely to own stock in oil/gas companies and companies serving that industry. It's a significant proportion of our economy.

I read a quote by a Native American woman who complained about the protestors causing more problem than the pipeline construction.

Is there anyone from the affected tribes actually participating in the protest?

Well we knew that anything Trump did would be evil.

Big surprise here.

Leftists, can’t win by telling the truth.

Rush brought up a point this morning, and it caused me to really think. (first time) “:^)

Trump wants us to rally for the U.S. He sees us as one people. Conservatism sees the nation as ‘one people’.

The Left sees the nation as a multitude of factions. It has to, to survive. Think about that point. Come to terms with it.

To be powerful the Left cannot agree that we should unite to make the nation great. It needs the populace to be divided.

Thinking back...

Does anyone know when the Left in the United States ceased to exist and why?

The Left ceased to exist on 09/11/2001. Why? Because the nation became ‘one people’ for a moment in time.

Since that time the Left has worked very hard to give us Blacks against Whites, the Knock out Game, riots in the streets, and mobs that attacked Trump supporters just for daring to have an opinion.

I present to you, the destroyers.

They are the enemies of the ‘one people’, the American people.

They are evil incarnate.

There are 2 other pipelines in the exact same area-—No problems from them. This is a red herring, IMO.

I’d wager that your average pipeline protestor drives over a half dozen pipelines a day...

...and burnt 100 lb of fuel just to get to the protest.

“The Left needs the populace to be divided.”

So they can keep demanding unity, and berating opponents as divisive.
Just like Bolshevik communists need a perpetual state of revolution, even when in power.

This is a classic example of the "useful idiots" put into play by someone who has a vested interest in stopping the pipeline. Do you not agree?

I suspect that the rail line now transporting the oil via 350 rail cars. Rail stands to lose much business when the pipeline is completed. Not only is the transport of oil less expensive, but much more safe.

May be worth the time of a competent, responsible, honest journalist to look into this situation.

The MSM does nothing but fan the fire of fake outrage.

At least we have the facts on the situation now.....

The Left will go bonkers over this information. It will fuel the building protest.

I support the Native Americans notion that they got jipped and they sure did on their lands in the Dakotas through the treaties signed and broken in the 19th Century.

Cliven Bundy (who sent a letter from jail supporting Donald Trump) has some ‘land claim’ issues of his own with the federal government over Nevada land.

Bundy Ranch Facebook has been supportive of the Native American cause in ND and I am on the same page.

We need a pipeline somewhere out there and Obama canned the bigger Keystone XL pipeline to Texas looking good to the Left, then decided to allow this little Dakota Access line be built to Illinois shafting their “Green” agenda.

Politics......

And by “exact same area” - at least one is along the same easement - so within feet of the proposed pipe.

Oh - 95% of the pipeline is completed and installed. This is the last little bit.

As others have said, this is the Indians trying to make right on some 1800’s treaty (not so much about the water, etc.) But I’m not sure the land was ever given to them. It has been private land and federal land for a long time, with court cases upholding the existing conditions.

Supposedly 750 train cars a day:

by a rail line owned by Warren Buffett.
