While that is true, she was one of the first to stand by Trump from the very beginning. I watched a video of her on the Bill maher show last year, and they asked her out of the current slate of GOP candidates, who would win the nomination. Ann answered Trump, and they howled laughter at her. I felt sorry for her...but....

did she ever get sweet revenge on them...

I agree with your premise. On January 21st, he better not slack on any of his campaign platforms. Obamacare, 2nd amendment and the Wall...that is what got him elected.

As for as Romney, I can't stand the guy, but if for some reason he is SOS, I have no doubt he'll get fired the first time he doesn't tow the Trump line. Maybe that will be the ultimate humiliation for Romney.

Ann’s assessment is precisely correct.

I like Ann's take on this, but I would caution her to wait and see.

Trump has not been the same type of politician we've seen in the past and Ann is falling into the same trap that everyone else did, treating Trump LIKE every other politician.

He's not, he did the Carrier deal on the phones during Thanksgiving, when he didn't have to, or even need to, but it was a promise he made, and the first of many (I believe) he will keep.

What he has to do is tread lightly so Oblunder doesn't use that pen to do permanent damage to the nation on the way out

One other thing, Trump is not going to govern based on one philosophy. I suspect he will put Dems and Reps in a room, show what he is wanting to do and making them come up with a solution that works for the American people.

And if they can't come to an agreement or start up with the petty party line BS rather than work to a real solution, Trump will use Twitter, the Interwebs, even the MSM to rail against those NOT doing their jobs for the people.

A not so subtle reminder that THEY work for US, not the other way around.

I keep saying, and Trump has to know, he has two years. Like Yamamoto told the Japs, he could own the Pacific for four years. He HAS TO accomplish everything in two years. There needs to be a “white out blizzard” of activity. If he can do that he may accomplish even more in the subsequent years but if he lets the NY Times et. al. slow things down he will get mired in the swamp we need drained.

I’m not thrilled with some of the appointments, but we’ll have to see. If he picked someone like Mnuchen, for example, because he knows the GS culture and will be better prepared to put them down when necessary, then that’s great. If, however, it’s business as usual and the swamp just gets a different flavor, then he doesn’t get my vote again.

Trump knows the the promises he made to seal the deal to be elected POTUS, hewill bury the resistors in plain site, people will not mention their names.

McCain betrayed America while a POW, lots of us know that.

I am a fierce Trump supporter but Ann is correct:

If Trump doesn’t build the wall and rapidly deport large number of Mexicans, I will oppose him as furriously as I opposed Hillary.

No doubt about it.

It should come as no surprise that Trump would go to Goldman-Sachs for financial posts and the CFR for foreign policy. I don’t recall Trump consulting with Pat Buchanan or Ron Paul very often.

Ann says, “But if Trump doesn’t appoint the sort of people capable of fulfilling his campaign promises on immigration, he will fail. He’ll be just another lying politician, and his supporters will watch in horror as rapists, terrorists and drug dealers continue living in our country.”

Surrender in the culture wars and appointing Harvard Law ‘living Constitution’ judges to the Supreme Court won’t cut short his presidency, but halfway measures on immigration enforcement would kill any Trump legacy.

Some are saying that as long as US follows the immigration laws on the books, we don’t need a wall. I strongly disagree.

Our country will be faced with another “obama” in yrs to come. We need that wall for future generations.

There are three “games” that must be played, and immigration is a small part of one of them.

1. We must avert the Obama/Hillary stupid war with Russia. We are not ready to fight it; we could lose!

2. The currency is going to collapse! The dollar cannot go on like this and there is precious little time to fix the derivatives mess.

3. The welfare state will come to an end and it will not be pretty. There is no money for all this and we cannot even slow the rate of growth of the entitlements!

Immigration is involved in the third problem as the immigrants add to the rolls of the GimmeGimme’s, and they harden the Demwit power.

If you cannot reform the welfare state, (debatable proposition), the best hope is a John Galt future, starving the gov’t of funds while INCREASING the demand for freebies. Move businesses you hope to save, like Ford and Carrier, out of the country until after the collapse and resulting civil unrest, if we can win that, (debatable,) and try to rebuild a constitutional republic on the rubble.

Trump doesn’t need to do anything but have his AG enforce the laws on the books. All laws.

My wife lived in Manhattan for 23 years. She was always impressed with Trump’s handling of the ice rink.
