" Perhaps the students are not aware of other sources of information, or do not have the motivation or ability to think for themselves. "

In the beginning, colleges and universities taught your children HOW to think. Nowadays, they teach your children WHAT to think................

Interesting story.

Let’s ask those kids why border guards were stationed on the wall, and why people were trying desperately to get to the west. And why people were exuberantly celebrating when the wall was finally torn down (thank you, President Reagan).

Oh wait, they probably have no idea of these events, because they weren’t taught it in school. Reality doesn’t fit the liberal narrative.

If communism is such a paradise, wouldn’t people have been going the other way?

‘Even worse: When 9/11 happened, they were around 4-5 years old. The cultural impact of the event has faded rapidly.’

Wow, yes, you are right. *sighs*

That really puts things into perspective.... sadly.

Not unless they protested against Castro, I think most of them would kiss Castro’s feet. But then again, maybe most of them would whine about the poor conditions of living there.

He was a prescient man.

Thank you for that quote. I wonder if these kids had to read ‘1984’ in high school like many of us did.

With their $250 million after just 16 years out of office, the Clintons are just about on track to equal (or better) Castro, who compiled over $900 million once he came to power in the 1950s.

The demographic of “gibmedats” just expects politicians to be on the take, like everybody.

I suspect deep down inside, I prefer dead dictators to living politicians. After all, the dead dictator can no longer hurt me.

I can only imagine my grandmother would get disgusted at these kids. Soviets overran the Balkan States, she and her siblings and parents left their farm behind in Heufeld, Yugoslavia and didn’t turn back. Lived in Austria until they decided to just go to the U.S.A. Communists are not nice.

A graduate of AU. Stopped contributing several years ago when they started to veer hard left.

That said when I went there in the late '60's if you cut class because you were upset about the election it would have got you an immediate F and lasting ridicule on campus.

Then I realized it was real.

President-Elect Donald Trump, for example, referred to Castro as a “brutal dictator,” whereas Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called him a “remarkable leader.”

There you go whack left...Move to Canada!!!
