One day after Thanksgiving, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher tweeted out news that he is being considered for the position of Secretary of State in President-elect Donald Trump’s Administration. The tweet linked to the following message:

I have been told that I am under consideration to join President Trump’s team as Secretary of State. While my present intention, of course, is to continue to fight for liberty and freedom as a member of the House of Representatives, as a strong supporter of President-Elect Trump’s vision for America, it would be a privilege and an honor to serve as his Secretary of State.

...

Rohrabacher previously served as a senior speech writer for seven years as well as special assistant to former President Ronald Reagan. He is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and serves as chairman of the subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats.

Rohrabacher was dead wrong on many issues.
I think he’d be a terrible pic.

“Rohrabacher was dead wrong on many issues.”

He’s a member of the Freedom Caucus and is generally against foreign intervention and foreign aid. From my standpoint he is right on most issues.

He has a record of supporting adventurist interventions, political subterfuge and covert ops in Afghanistan (pro-Islamos), Yugoslavia (pro-Muslim, anti-Serb), Iran (pro nonexistant separatists) etc. some of his stances show great lack of insight others turned out to bite us in the back.

He is ok on some other issues, but if his advice is on par with his past advice, hr has no business as SecState.

It is mental illness seeking perfect people, something about stone casting.

Dana is a good choice.

Don’t know why you assume that it’s a secret.

Trump has been parading candidates for various positions in front of the cameras for all to see.

He was the one surprise name on the recent Breitbart poll for SOS preferences.

I would be very happy with this pick — at least it isn’t Romney.

Exactly. Trump’s team could have asked him to float a trial balloon or a ramp up to an announcement.
