Sounds great! We usually go to a state park or restaurant
buffet ever since I called a definite halt to all the
kitchen mess and cooking. Just gradually got enough of it.
This year, going to BIL’s. Husband just can’t seem to ever
outgrow this Norman Rockwell magazine cover daydream that
never really was. He did renege a little when he also
realized that I just could NOT do all that cooking any more.
SIL is a German-born woman & pretty rigid. I suspect she
has kept a dual citizenship; but don’t know that for sure.
I’m the daughter of an Army combat veteran of WWII who
fought the NAZIS in Germany. Her father was a conscripted
German soldier who was a POW in Russia. Daddy could not
abide the NAZI officers, but felt some degree of sympathy
for the ordinary conscripted German soldier (but THEY were
shooting at him; so he shot back!) They’re doing their
holiday tomorrow. We’re taking cranberry sauce & tea.
It’ll be OK since the liberal DIL won’t be there. I don’t
intend to pick a fight; but will tell the truth if asked.
No human being is qualified to govern this world. However,
UNTIL perfection comes to this earth in the form of
Jesus Christ; we have to muddle along best we can.
