Few of President-elect Donald Trumps campaign promises resonated as deeply as his promise to build a wall.
In 2015, he gave the first of many speeches outlining his immigration plans, the cornerstone of which was a wall with Mexico.
"Were going to work on numerous things. The first is building a wall, which Mexico will pay for. Okay? Were going to build it. I know how to do it. Its going to be real wall, not a toy wall like we have right now," Trump said.

"Right now we live here in Arivaca on an open pathway for Sinaloa Cartel drugs. We see armed drug packers heavily laden, marching north," she said.
People who live and work along the border know first-hand the problems caused by illegal immigration. Yet their concerns are dismissed by elites who don't have to experience or deal with any of these issues. The establishment's response to these rancher's concerns has always been, "Who are you going to believe, me or these rancher's lying eyes?"
Case in point: Trump was called a deluded bigot by the media for saying that many of the people coming over are drug dealers and violent criminals. It seems to me that most of his statements are vindicated by the Chiltons and thousands of other borderland ranchers and landowners across the country.

..and the San-Francisco Chronicle says Americans who live near border say Trump’s wall is unwelcome
Just get something started. Once there are tangible results, the border will tighten considerably.
But....but, the San Fran Chronicle just had a story claiming that “Americans living on the border” didn’t want no damn wall....
I want:
1. A road along the entire border, navigable by Jeep or similar vehicle, with triple strand concertina wire barriers 100-200 yards on each side monitored frequently for vandalism. That can be done very quickly and will immediately slow the crossings of illegals. We must secure the border so illegals cannot easily enter (or reenter after being deported).
2. At least one additional barrier beyond those double barbed wire obstacles, whether a fence, a wall, or something else physical to prevent unauthorized passage. We must secure the border so illegals cannot easily enter (or reenter after being deported).
3. Pregnant illegals who are not immediately deported should be held outside the United States so their anchor babies will not be US citizens.
4. All illegals who committed the crime of entering our country illegally or of overstaying after legal entry and then committed any other crime while in our country should be deported. No exceptions. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship. Any state or local government with a sanctuary policy should be barred from receiving federal funds; and illegals who access social services, including schools, should be required to be reported to ICE.
5. All illegals who committed the crime of entering our country illegally in the past two years, and thus have not been here long enough to have stronger ties here than at home, should be deported. In other words, no new growth in our illegal population. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship. No exceptions.
6. Once those are taken care of, we should deport the remaining illegals (or better, encourage them to go home on their own). Allow those who go home on their own to apply for legal reentry and legal status. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship - again, no exceptions. For those who go home on their own, we should take into account in their visa applications any past history of productive work in the United States, English proficiency if they learned our language while here, and any record of living here without using welfare and other social services.
7. The only way for illegals to gain legal status should be to apply from their home countries for legal entry after voluntarily going home. Note: We also need to fix legal immigration so that the number of immigrants approved by Congress and by the President can obtain visas in a reasonable time to come here, and they can do it from the countries we wish to receive immigrants from, after thorough background checks.
And the mainstream “fake news” outfits are claiming that the wall would keep cattle and plants and peccaries and deer from drinking from the Rio Grande!
A 5 minute YouTube that has Tucker Carlson burning up an SJW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiN3zzv7dCg
Every illegal in the criminal justice system should be CHIPPED and police provided with readers, so when the arrest them again, they know they have a repeat offender.

Shoot them.
How are they going to deal with tunneling under it?
Tunneling is much slower than running across open land. My suggestion is not meant to be perfect, just to slow the criminals down. However, if the double fences are far enough apart, and if the border is monitored to see where people are still crossing, we should be able to find and destroy the tunnels as they build them. Throw in one more barrier well beyond the double barriers of concertina wire, and it'll be expensive to build a tunnel that long.
I wasn’t knocking your suggestions. It is just a general question. I remember they even did a show called The Bridge (now cancelled) that used tunnels in their stories.
we should be able to find and destroy the tunnels as they build them.
Like Israel, use sensors to detect the tunneling. Wait until they are occupied, then destroy them. Later, rinse, repeat.
If we can establish a border security system that would slow the illegal invasion from a flood to a manageable trickle, that would be a great leap forward compared to what we have now. I'm not dogmatic in demanding that it be a fence/wall along the entire border, in some places increased surveillance will do the job. The point is that something is better than the near-nothing that we have in place today.
The liberal attitude on this issue and virtually every other has always been, "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes."
I remember Tucker Carlson being something of a dull, milquetoast establishmentarian when he first showed up on the air, but he was mostly on the right side of things during this election. His op-ed “Trump is shocking, vulgar, and right” should have been required reading for the delicate wilting establishment GOP violets upset by Trump’s politically incorrect rhetoric.
The solution for people living on the border not wanting a wall, The solution is very simple: (1) imminent domain, (2) build the wall behind their property-leaving them on the Mexico border side. Done!
Build the best 5 strand barbed wire fence with 24” of cow panel wire, and if you don’t close the gate it does no good....
