Why is Elizabeth Holmes still leading Theranos?
San Francisco Business Times ^ | Nov 18, 2016, 1:40pm PST | Ron Leuty Reporter San Francisco Business Times

It's worth asking why Elizabeth Holmes is still leading the embattled blood testing company Theranos Inc. But there may be a good reason why she still is in charge, one that has little to do with the scandal-ridden company's performance to date.

Forget what venture capitalist Tim Draper — one of the first to invest in the Palo Alto company — implied this week that Holmes is being attacked because she's a young, female entrepreneur. The simple fact is that Theranos has not been able to deliver on its technology from a commercial, scientific or regulatory standpoint, and that falls on Holmes, its founder, CEO and chairman.

I love posting about this case. Watching a glazey eyed psychopath get her just desserts is a kind of relief.

Seems like we’ve seen a long string of failed female executives...also Fiorina, Sony’s Amy Pascal, Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer, Hellary...

Time to stop putting women in charge of things until we can figure out what the hell is going on.

I find it intriguing that these hyped female executives have all failed at their responsibilities. The female executive at Yahoo ended the independent contributor program that allowed aspiring writers to self publish their work, trashing that valuable program and frankly it disgusts me that she still has her job.

These women seem to want to be promoted to prove something, not just show up, do a good job and enjoy the benefits of having worked hard and worked smart.

I figure they had enough backing to attract some pretty good scientific talent. They must have at least made some progress in developing new technology.

I think they did, but put frankly, it wasn’t enough to end up with her actually living up to the hype. She was first, overeager to make a name for herself and she obviously had some serious mental problems that were going to manifest once her ‘view’ of reality was in fact reinforced through all of the hype/adulation that she received as a result of her good PR.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one that sees ‘crazy eyes’ in every picture of this woman.

Their board was really a joke and could never provide a balance to her. I am surprised they didn’t force her out, eventually, though. Although not experts in anything related to Theranos business or business in general, they did provide insider contacts. THey were almost all quite old as well. There seemed to be hiring of relatives of the board members as well: it was the grandson of one of the board members that became a whistleblower. The grandfather won’t talk to the grandson anymore and tried to have Theranos lawyers ambush him at a meeting.

Strange story all around. She’s a crazy fraud.

Interestingly, totally. Jobs was obsessed with ‘making history’ and of course, ended up trashing Apple through a lot of his divisive policies and frankly got thrown out. The difference is, that his product was actually useful and proven to work. He had his quirks, but they were in fact solidly him being himself, not aping anyone else. Holmes is eager to be the next big thing and show herself off to be too cool for school.

Forcing her out, who knows that might have happened then.

Hearing about how she was ordering employees not to talk or having the whistle-blower stalked, she needs to be put in an institution and locked up for the rest of her life. It’s not like she’s just a disappointed entrepreneur who has failed, she’s someone who is literally hiring goons to go after her employees and tapping phones, which is a criminal act, not just her being some workforce tyrant. This is the kind of behavior a dictator would enforce and this is something that could have led to murder.

As it is, her chief scientist took his life and I am certain that there will be more horror stories coming out.

She’s an Obama-bundler and apparently a hard-core liberal with a social engineering agenda.

They should have ditched her long ago at Yahoo. She’s almost completely-ruined Yahoo.

Yahoo is a mess and useless as a search engine.

Have you seen the new Yahoo Messenger? My God, the thing is a horror show. Looks like something a high schooler cooked up for his first computer programming project.

Marissa Meyer has almost completely ruined Yahoo.

They actually thought people were going to pay $250-$3000 for “coins” to play their online slot games. Since they couldn’t run a gambling operation, nobody could have won any money back. What an idiotic idea. They eventually abandoned it to Facebook.

And all they ever do is publish stuff to trash conservatives, push idiot liberals like Obama and Hillary and freaky pop stars. What a joke they’ve become. A lot of their users tell them off in their liberal articles.

Including me.

I think, like Zuckerberg, her demented ‘vision’ is in fact a way for her to start dragging people into her particular bit of psycho. I don’t know how on earth anyone can miss this. I think she’s having a kind of breakdown now that her ‘reality’ is being deconstructed piece by piece. I truly think that once it call comes out, a lot more people will come forward and tell stories of her intimidation, manipulation, and how she tried to control the personal lives of her employees.

The new Yahoo chat is so insanely pretentious and pointlessly complicated. I am certain that Meyers should be fired.

Propped up for her gender and youth. She should be penniless and in jail for this con.

Thanks for the ping. The Washington and military connections are unnerving. What did this company have that pulled in all those big names who knew nothing about the industry and the technology?
