NEW YORK — President-elect Donald Trump signaled a sharp rightward shift in U.S. national security policy Friday, naming Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general, Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo to head the CIA and former military intelligence chief Michael Flynn as his national security adviser.

All three have been fierce critics of President Barack Obama's handling of terrorism and international relations. In tapping Sessions and Flynn, Trump is also rewarding loyalty from two of his most ardent supporters during the presidential campaign.

Did Donald Trump say this? If not, I do not believe it.

You don’t believe that Sessions and Flynn have been chosen for these positions?

I think Fox news said they have a press release that confirms these appointments.

But, I, too am waiting for the official President Trump confirmation of all these appointments.

I think it’s official now. Another source: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-chooses-sen-jeff-sessions-for-attorney-general-rep-mike-pompeo-for-cia-director-transition-sources-say/2016/11/18/a0c170ae-ad8e-11e6-a31b-4b6397e625d0_story.html

Love the choices, but I want them to be officially announced by Trump. MSM lies so much and have a dismal track record.

He retweeted the information.

I am a bit concerned with Flynn’s apparent love in with Erdogan.

“Flynn’s apparent love in with Erdogan.”

Hadn’t heard that. To say the least, Erdogan is an enemy of the U.S. and an enemy of his own countrymen (other than the radical ragheads there).

Interesting how appointing staff members that are staunch supporters of the rule of law are considered right wingers.

I’ve always understood Sessions as being a little squishy on conservative issues. I think Trump could have done better on the AG appointment.

WRONG. Sessions is very conservative otherwise he would never be elected in Alabama.

Exactly. We are just beginning to read/hear the biased take on ALL his appointments. I hope/know President Trump is prepared for the bias and the fight he will have in the Congress by the Dems to get these appointments approved.

Stay the course, President Trump!

From what I remember, Sen. Sessions has been a staunch conservative in the Senate. I don’t have specifics, but I just remember him being a stalwart. I think he will be fine!
