This is not news to me. There have been quite a few dirty Customs and Border Protection officers and a couple of Border Patrol agents caught in the San Diego area in the last ten years. The former official spokesman for the Border Patrol and his brother, also a Border Patrol officer, were convicted. Their name is Villareal.
If you want to get smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico and can pay top dollar, about $10,000 to $11,000, you can ride into San Diego in the trunk of a car past a dirty CBP agent.

He removed the entrenched corruption element from the border.
