People serving in President-elect Donald Trump's administration will be banned from working as lobbyists for five years, Trump's transition team said Wednesday.
"It goes back to Mr. Trump's goal of making sure people aren't using government to enrich themselves," said Sean Spicer, the Republican National Committee's chief strategist and a member of Trump's transition team.
Spicer made the announcement on a media call, according to The Hill.
The website reported everyone appointed to Trump's administration will sign a contract that said they are not currently working as a lobbyist and will not do so within five years of leaving the administration.
NBC News reported Wednesday that Vice President-elect Mike Pence has ordered the removal of all lobbyists from Trump's transition team.

Federal jobs need to have massive pay and benifit cuts. If you arent standing a post with a weapon, your compensation should not exceed those that are walking the walk.

Yep. Just saw more media stories this morning casting aspersions at the lobbyist ban.
If Hillary had done it, every media outlet would have claimed the second coming, praising the radiant transparency emanating from The First Vagina, while plastering Mao-like icons of her everywhere.
I hope this will open more eyes. I’m not expecting miracles, but in a long four year slog of media slime, only the True Believers will be immune to the truth.
We need a LAW to prevent anyone who has to be confirm by the Senate and all members of the House and Senate to be banned from working as a lobbyist for six years after leaving office. A pledge—as we saw from Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, et. al.—is not worth the air the pledge displaces.
Punishable by incarceration. Laws need teeth.
Law likely won’t work. There’s a long list of spouses or other close relatives of Congressmen bringing home much more money as a lobbyist than a Congressman is paid.
