Trump himself has tweeted everything is going just fine. THAT’S what they’re not reporting.

I can’t remember why, but things he said and did made me wonder if he skeletons in his closet and pressure might have been applied.

IMO supposedly Trump was infuriated over Bridgegate and the sentencing of two of Chistie’s aides, a young woman and a man, for engineering the bridge partial closure and huge traffic snafu to avenge the Mayor in that town for not backing Christie on something or other. Both aides implicated Christie, but Christie skated. The sentence can run 20 years for each of the aides, and the buzz was Trump thinks Christie should have shouldered the blame. The woman has young children at home, don’t know about the guy who is also due to be sentenced. Christie was demoted from head of the vetting committee for appointments and Pence took it over and Christie was made Assistant to Pence on the vetting, but now it looks like Christie is out.

Guessing bridge closing debacle is getting too close for comfort. Maybe he lied to Trump about it?

This might have been Pence’s strong suggestion to drop Christie.
It`s good to see that Trump isn`t going to overlook Christie`s misdeeds just because he supported Trump. Trump seems to be insisting on a high moral standard of behavior among his people. It`s very encouraging to see.

His two LTs were convicted in the bridge closure thing last year. They were top aides, and pretty close to him.

With his executive experience as guv and his years in Congress, Pence is the perfect guy for getting this sorted out. Also, he has the chief of staff for, I forget exactly who, Sessions? helping him.
As I have noted before, Trump has a history of making quick corrections on a not quite right first take—but getting it right the second time.
I would also guess that discovering the transition effort was so far behind, once Trump turned his attention to it on the 9th, also sealed Christie’s fate.

Exactly! Instead, it’s described as “internal discord” and “mass firings.” Trump news: all negative all the time.
I though Christie was demoted to vice chair, not let go of......I’ve been out of it for a couple days due to a hip replacement so don’t bash me if I missed something.
It was also mentioned a few times on Fox & Friends this a.m. I suspect Varney and Dobbs, and possibly Trish Regan, will cover it today (if they didn’t yesterday) on the Fox Biz Channel, too.
