The verdict is a shocker...

There’s 5 parts in all, but the above is the conclusion.

According to the DNA analysis of the blood found in John Carpenter’s rental car, it isn’t that of Bob Crane. They fully expected it would match but apparently doesn’t. The local prosecutors, despite learning of this, still believe Carpenter is the guilty party.
But they said the second sample was too contaminated. Do you think it was the wife or female they mentioned?
“It’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove.”
Using 38 year old samples isn’t going to convict too many people. So, technically, yes, I’d have to quote Arlen Specter and say “Not proven”.
But, I still know Carpenter did it. The camera tripod was all metal construction and it’s doubtful the average sized woman of 38 years ago was going to wield it around like a ninja. Sorry, Mr. Defense Attorney, your “theory” is rubbish.
Also, if you’ve seen the movie “Autofocus”, Crane >DID NOT< “score” the night he was killed; he discussed it with Carpenter, when Carpenter called him asking him if he was alone. When Crane said he wasn’t, it was a green light for Carpenter to kill him.
Carpenter got away with murder, period.
Great find FM!
I don’t know. It’s curious Bob, Jr. thought his stepmother Patty (known under her acting name of Sigrid Valdis) could’ve been behind it as they were in an ugly divorce battle at the time of his murder. She died 9 years ago.
One troubling thing, however. If Carpenter didn’t do it, then what on earth was that blood doing in his newly-obtained rental car and who did it come from ?
Presuming Bob was telling him the friendship was over. They had in one of the clips his last interview on the radio and he was just about to turn 50 and he sounded like someone who was taking a long look at his life and wanting to turn it around and jettisoning someone like Carpenter was at the top of his to-do list. It seemed like Hollywood was waiting for him to offer a comeback as long as he got his act together.
Agree with all you wrote.
Why was there so much blood in Carpenter’s rental car? Really. He did it; the local PD screwed the investigation up from the beginning.
He got away with murder.
Even had he been convicted in the ‘94 trial, he’d have only spent 4 years in prison before he died (quite probably less given what the conviction would’ve done to his health). It was criminal that the investigation was mishandled back in 1978.
General Burkhalter in the mess hall with a pick axe.
Yep, yep and yep.
Carpenter eked out a few years always looking over his shoulder; not much quality of life there.
Bob Crane: Porno actor that moonlighted in the mainstream. You get involved with that sh*t, you’re not going to get out of it unscathed.
And the Scottsdale PD...poop on them, too.
Unless she tried to frame him.
We’ll never know for certain now. Curiously, both Crane and Patty (Sigrid Valdis) are buried in the same plot with the inscription “Hogan and Helga together forever.” =8-0>
That’s kinda creepy.
Oh well, chalk it up like the Zodiac case, we’ll never know.
