Absolutely a great idea! I’ve been saying that myself lately.
The EC was set up because the population was distributed disproportionally to northern states. Now the population is distributed more on the coasts. Why should 5 cities, New York, LA, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston carry so much weight?
I propose that we here on FR start a national grass roots campaign to change the laws in our states so that the electoral votes are apportioned as they are in Maine and Nebraska.

Trump does everything he has to do to vanquish his opponents. Once that has been achieved, he helps them up. He hopes to get them on his side, if he can. If they don’t come on board he destroys them. Hillary is a special case. It’s going to take finess.
That is my take. The family did this interview as a courtesy. They know the media is not their friend.
He does not have to show his hand.
Diplomacy and Statesmanship, in a Nation that needs to healed. Wouldn’t that help the folks whose candidate lost start the acceptance process?
Did you notice that almost 40 percent of the democrats caucus in the house comes from only three states? You could make an argument they don’t even belong with national party status. Obama took them so far left, he damn neared destroyed them.

The only thing I really didn’t like was his comments about the Electoral College, although it is also apparent he hasn’t really thought about what it is and is probably malleable on it - or just trying to play Stahl to get her to move on to something else since it was coupled with other things as a loaded question.
It levels the playing field and is in keeping with the fact that we are a union of individual states coming together to form a nation. The President of these United States therefore is elected by the States. The state legislatures of each state have granted their citizens the right to vote for who their State electors will cast a vote for. There is no “national popular vote” - they are combining the votes of completely separate, local state elections to form a meaningless statistic.
Leslie Stahl REPEATEDLY tried her best to put words in Trump’s mouth and trip him up. Didn’t work a single time. MAJOR FAIL for LESLIE! MAJOR FAIL! MAJOR!

I saw that too, and immediately realized that was a bogus edit deliberately taken out of context: Trump was saying ‘they are good people’ about someone besides the Clintons; probably was saying it about the American people.

which is why President Trump will continue to tweet, directly communicating to the world, unfiltered by the enemedia. they’re just now figuring out President Trump will render them completely irrelevant and are totally freaking out about it.
There is a path from trusting the propagandist media to not trusting them. Some people need to be escorted down that path.
