I believe Donald said each member country must pay their fair share - no freeloaders
He did and the media hysteria was (and remains apparently) ridiculous.
Many of “our partners” in NATO have not paid their fair share for a really long time. It’s about time someone called them on it so in my mind, this is a good thing.
All this crap about Russia is stupid.

We need military alliances. Putin would like nothing better than no-NATO.
But each member of the alliance needs to contribute fairly to it. Either with military forces, dollars or both.
I think this is all Trump is saying, and what the defense minister is trying to excuse or finesse by saying it’s “not a business.”

Ursula von der Leyen is not a guy. She is another example of how far Germany has fallen. No NATO member country's defense minister should publicly speak so undiplomatically and unprofessionally. Perhaps her emotions got the better of her since her pal Hillary Clinton lost the election.
