There aren’t any Polar Bears in Antarctica, they only live in the Arctic.
But he could get eaten by a Leopard Seal, or the Penguins, or the Gulls.
Or a starving member of the dog teams or the only surviving member of the Shackleton Expedition (they are hungry to).
On second thought who or what would even want to eat a pile of sh!t over 6 feet tall?

I don’t know why he went, but leaders from all over the world have been going there. WikiLeaks had a bunch of pics of Antartica released. Something secret there - maybe we will find out one of these days.
Part of Admiral Byrd’s expedition is still classified is what I’ve read. He went there after WWII, possibly looking for Nazi Bases.
