Early Vote in Clark County Indiana

Posted on 11/04/2016 7:20:01 AM PDT by greylurker

I cast my vote yesterday at the Courthouse, there was a 40 minute wait, I have never seen a line to vote before. On the way to the Courthouse I saw 4 Trump signs and one Hillary for Prison sign.

I hope that Trump support has coattails with Trey Hollingsworth.

Are you registered Republican or Unaffiliated. I ask because the registered Democrats are killing it in Clark EV. We need significant cross-over or a substantial majority of the Unaffiliates. The Dems ‘Clark Firewall’ is close to 65K now.

What are the demographics of the county compared to the people you saw in line?

Democrats tend to own early voting. Republicans hold on to this outdated notion that "Good Americans" wait until Election Day to go vote.

It isnt outdated to show up on the actual day.

Michigan is in play BECAUSE we didn’t vote a month ago.

Early voting just creates a bunch of people that may have decided that they voted for the wrong person or are just sitting ducks watching events still unfold, and with nothing they can do but fidget in their seats.

So many people I know are saying similar things in very different states:

- long lines for early voting
- people talking about the fact they’re voting for Trump
- voting for Trump after not voting for one or more elections
- seeing Trump signs outnumber Hillary signs 3 or 4 to one, sometimes dozens to one.

And yet the poles make seem like this is sooooo close. I don’t know what to think.

Clark Co. is heavily democrat, mainly to participate in local politics, but most are conservative. Strange but true. I am a Rep.

I live in Hendricks county. It’s heavily Republican, and the lines have been very long all week. Hopefully the Democrat counties aren’t experiencing the same.

In Florida, absentee balloting favored GOP, early voting Dems.

A lot depends on Independents in this election and Trump has appealed to them.

IN will go Trump.

Long wait lines indicate an R +2 election...

I detest early voting for lots of reasons. However, where it exists we must change our thinking and get our voters out early as well.

Right now it is like a boxing match where one opponent wins the first 14 rounds and we have to win by knockout in the 15th.

We need to press our legislatures to do away with early voting where it exists.

Not this time around..I think the bastards will turnout in record numbers. I have never seen our RAT city break early voting records..ever! Hispanics are the great majority here and they ARE turning out in big numbers......this has me a tad worried because the socialist rats outnumber us I believe across the country...remember 65million non speaking English socialists have invaded this land. But God willingly there are some democRATS who love this nation enough to cast votes against the EVIL CRIMINAL WITCH!! Just giving you a view from my back of the woods.

It should be so simple:

You must register to vote at prescribed locations with it notarized by staff in-person.

Vote on one day.

Show ID before getting a ballot.

Dip your finger in ink.

Every 365 days rolls are purged of those no longer living or those that have moved. If you move you MUST register again.

That is all of the election reform you need. And the majority of the cost is the darn ink!

Lady you have done nothing but panic and spazz-out this entire election over every little thing.

Everyone here know you are prone to fits of exaggeration and panic, so you will have to excuse us if we arent exactly all that “concerned”.

I do not disagree.

But I still submit where early voting is allowed we need to be better at the game than we are know. Where it isn’t win on Election Day!

It should be so simple:

Until the Democrats allow us to change the way elections are held, we should play by the same rules they do.

There's no excuse to not have voted by now. There's too much at stake this time around. When Election Day turns into chaos across the nation, and there's a good chance it might (liberals aren't going to just hand the place over to Trump) it's going to hurt Republicans more than Democrats.

Dems tend to show higher percentage of the early vote because they don’t have to worry about missing work. Reps have jobs so their early vote numbers are lower. Just my observation. Mrs. Afterguard and I are retired after 50 or so years in the workforce, so we got to vote early this year. Our EV station was packed with all types of folks so it’s hard to discern which candidate had the upper hand, although our county is normally hard over toward the (R) column.
