Clinton aide called Comey 'a bad choice' for FBI director, leaked emails reveal

WASHINGTON ? A senior aide to Hillary Clinton privately dismissed FBI Director James Comey as "a bad choice" in October 2015, according to hacked emails published Thursday. The blunt assessment foreshadowed the dramatic tension that has escalated between Comey and the Democratic presidential candidate in the final days before the election.

Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri forwarded to colleagues a news article in which the FBI director suggested that crime could be rising because police officers were becoming less aggressive as a result of the "Ferguson effect," anti-police sentiment following unrest earlier that year in Ferguson, Mo. Comey was widely criticized over the remarks

If this comment is enough to disqualify somebody as a FBI director, what will it be like in the streets if Clinton wins? Cops have to barricade themselves inside a police station surrounded by a mob of criminals. Then she will use it as an excuse to launch gun confiscation drive.

It seems a minor miracle that somehow he passed the Obama machine.

Accidents do happen, and some of them end up changing the history. Juries are still out for whether this would be one of them.

Although Comey is a hillary sock puppet, evidently he’s NOT ENOUGH of a Hillary sock puppet.

Well, biblically speaking I’d count it as a “Lord setting my table in the presence of my enemies” event (Psalm 23).

What we call accidents are only things that we do not possess the knowledge to explain.

Every professor out there claims there is no Ferguson effect based on playing with statistics.

For various reasons I have carefully studying the behavior of the DC police department in the past couple of years.

They are classic “Ferguson effect” cops. They will not respond to a dangerous situation in a dangerous neighborhood. They will intentionally sit and wait, usually about a half hour, before venturing out of the station.

They get paid the same either way.

I ain’t sure what “statistics” are being talked about. Number of responded calls versus number of crimes? There would be a discouragement effect too, in which the people in the area get the message “don’t bother.”

Washington DC hasn’t had a good chief since Maurice Cullinane retired back in the 1970’s.

The professors like to compare the murder rate pre-Ferguson with the murder rate post-Ferguson.

That is a bogus measure for dozens of reasons.

In DC the issue is response time to bad neighborhoods. Most of those crimes are not murders but shootings, robbery, theft of various kinds, assaults of various kinds, etc.

There was a hilarious video this year where a guy trashed a DC convenience store and it was caught on video—twenty minutes of it.

The convenience store owner contacted the cops immediately when the trashing started and no cops had arrived in the twenty minutes since the incident started.

Since the nearest police station was five minutes away (tops) is was obvious the cops were intentionally delaying their reaction.

Shootings don’t count as murders when they kill? Odd way to account for murder.

The vast majority of shootings in DC do not lead to death.

One example—back in August there was a gang caught on video camera, three guys, shooting at some other guys off camera.

None of the shots hit their target at all.

The police did not respond until long after the gunfire had stopped. In this case the police station was five blocks away and it was 2 in the morning. If any cop was standing outside the station having a smoke they would have _heard_ the gunshots.

_That_ is the Ferguson effect.

Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri forwarded to colleagues a news article in which the FBI director suggested that crime could be rising because police officers were becoming less aggressive as a result of the "Ferguson effect,"...

Many of us thought that was one of Comey's better moments... he 'got' the cause and effect thing... He was right - the Ferguson Effect started the War on Cops and caused the deaths of many innocent brave police officers.
