In a month that saw its 9th anniversary, FBN also marked another milestone: its first win ever over rival CNBC in total viewers for a full month.

With heavy emphasis on the 2016 election, FBN averaged 170,000 total viewers (vs. 164,000 for CNBC) for business day, giving FBN its most-watched month ever and up 67 percent vs. October 2015. CNBC won the advertiser-friendly A25-54 demo (33,000 vs. 22,000). But FBN saw growth in the demo (+38 percent), while CNBC lost demo viewers (-35 percent) vs. October 2015.

Go to CNBC’s website, it reads like PRAVDA.

First, I am TV free for 15 months. Second, I hate CNBC. Third, when CNBC covers financial news, they still do it better than any other source - like immediately highlighting economic numbers that come out, earnings releases - i have looked and looked at alternatives and nothing does this as well as CNBC. Even still, I will rarely look at their website and even more rarely look at their telecasts, which I can still see for free through my broker’s app.

Yep but that ditz Not So Quick makes me turn the dial always too. Love FBN. I find myself watching it more than FNC these days.

I DVR Varney and Dobbs. I watch Varney when I get home from work while waiting for Dobbs.

Fox Business has been the best place to follow the Political Cycle... Fox News has been worthless for the most part.

Believe it or not, as crooked as they are behind the scenes, CNN is actually better than Fox this cycle.

Not sure how the CNBC v Fox Business stack up... not a real market follower... but at least on nights I am following political events, Fox Business is my network of choice most of the time. I will check out CNN as well... but I will disappear from all their ratings numbers shortly after the election.. and go back to not really watching cable news of any sort except for breaking world events.

I wonder how many people...like me...have turned off Fox News...and now watch Varney in the AM and Dobbs in the PM.

I suspect quite a few.

When I run thru the morning channels, I quickly get off the Squawk Box -— as they sound like they are actually squawking! Not pleasant.

Its not so much a “business” channel, as it is a grown up channel. They are not on pimping their stocks, and going crazy day trading.

They are intelligent and serious. Fox and Friends is just too goofy to watch. FBN is a wonderful breath of fresh air in the morning.

Dobbs and Varney are the ONLY people on either Faux Channel that are worthy of our time, and they are both exceptional. Leaves you wondering how O’Gasbag, MeAgain, and Brit have ended up their “flagship” news readers.
