I often wish that Trump could bring out Perot for a rally or two.

He's still alive?

no surprise there. i see Trump as Perot 2.0. that’s one of the main reasons i now support him.

Cue to 2:45 for the first question to Perot. Trump is in many aspects giving Americans the chance to reset this country 25 years. I was not a fan of Perot at the time, mostly because at the time, I still believed that the system worked and that Republicans were not like Democrats, but damn if Trump doesn't sound just like Perot here.

That's it! You figured it out! Very good!

I didn't see that. You've enlightened me.

I voted for Perot in 1992. It was a vote of reason/rationality but all it did was ensure the election of President Blue Dress and ensure we’d be dealing with a Clinton infestation even today. So, I never hesitate to tell people to not do what I did. Do not vote for someone when you really need to vote against someone. A vote for Trump is the most effective vote that votes against Hillary......

I want Trump to be the oldest person on the stage -- by at least 20 years -- at any of his rallies.

OMG, you have absolutely nailed it here.

This is the hidden key that unlocks the entire equation for Trump! I wonder if he sees it.

This allows him to transcend parties, to triangulate, as Dick Morris taught Bill Clinton to do.

You are brilliant. The Perot connection is sheer brilliance.

I guess the problem is, even if he sees it, how does Trump communicate this idea to the LIVs?

Ross P. had that election in the bag before he dropped out. He was ahead in every poll. I’ve never seen a proper explanation on why he dropped out.

Nice find and the message of Perot is eerily similar to that of Trump today.

I think Perot might have won had he not quit the race in bizarre fashion. He still managed to get 20 percent of the vote after getting back in. But he could well have won it all had he stayed the course and not been so thin-skinned.

Many of us thought Trump would have a similar meltdown. Billionaires don’t have to put up with the crap a presidential campaign puts you through. Trump stuck it out for us though and we owe it to him to get out and vote November 8.

I recall the buzz at the time was that Perot went in as a spoiler because he hated George H W Bush. Knowing what I know now, I can see that as a real possibility, the more we know the Bushes the more despicable they seem. I liked what Perot had to say but I didn't take him seriously as a candidate. Wish more people had.

Populism is out there. Perot and Buchanan were not the best spokesman, but they were right in many ways. The main problem with Perot was he was a gun grabber, but he was right on the national debt and trade.

In 1992, the Republican base still thought the Bushes were pro-life (sort of), and not globalist criminals. (Globalism is just the continuation of the Soviet/Nazi project. I.e., we “won” WWII only on the surface.) The reality of the BushClinton Crime Family was completely concealed, even though it had already existed for years. Perot and Stockdale were both pro-abortion, and so unacceptable to most Republicans.

Jeb! really helped blow the Bushes’ cover by murdering Terri Schiavo.

If Perot didn't drop out he would have mine and my husbands vote at the time, as 24 & 26 year olds, living on Cape Cod, Ma

Instead we voted for the first GB 1, would have been much more interesting if Perot hadn't turned tail and run off like he did

No Perot candidacy, no Slick Willie presidency and all the grief it has brought us, and may bring us in the future.
Thanks Ross. /s
