When the Affordable Care Act's fourth open enrollment period starts next week, many Lehigh Valley participants will notice a sharp spike in premiums.

In Pennsylvania, the average price for the benchmark second-lowest-cost silver plan for a 27-year-old is going up 53 percent, according to a report issued Monday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. That's nearly four times the rate of increase nationally.

Hopefully these people don’t follow the news and will be shocked. Thus they vote Trump!

What would happen if Perdue or Tyson, or WalMart, or ExxonMobil, or Lilly, or Merck, or Astra-Zeneca, suddenly increased the price of their products by 50%, on top of a series of double-digit price increases over the five previous years?

I'll tell you what. There would be an outcry. It would dominate news coverage. There would be story after story, digging deep, telling us about the profits of the companies, about the pay scale and lifestyle of the senior executives, about their private jets, about their private islands, about the major-league sports teams they owned and the yachts they had bought.

But this problem can be traced directly to the Democrats and Obama, and therefore... it's cool. No problem. Suck it up Mr. and Mrs. Consumer. You didn't need that money anyway.

anyone know the NJ. and NY. increase?

I gave NJ an outside chance of voting Trump, New York where Trump pays huge taxes on his properties is hopeless.

Bill Clinton slams ObamaCare as ‘craziest thing in the world’

By Daniel Halper and Marisa Schultz

October 4, 2016

Bill Clinton has blasted President Obama’s signature piece of legislation — ObamaCare — as “the craziest thing in the world.”

You’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden, 25 million more people have health care, and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half and it’s the craziest thing in the world,” the former president railed at a rally in Michigan on Monday.

Clinton also said the system is hurting moderately successful small businesses — ones that aren’t doing poorly enough to be subsidized and fall just above the line.

“On the other hand, the current system works fine if you’re eligible for Medicaid, if you’re a lower-income working person, if you’re already on Medicare or if you get enough subsidies on a modest income that you can afford your health care,” Clinton said.

“But the people getting killed in this deal are the small-business people and individuals who make just a little bit too much to get any of these subsidies,” he added. ...”

the obamacare crash was intended as a hillry rides in with a single payer solution and saves the day.

at least that was the plan.

now she has to hide because of pay for play, Obama’s exposed lies about emails, and probably insurance company pay to play emails lurking.

I just love how Bam claimed that it has no effect on most people getting insurance through their employer. I will give him this: he and his people are much more sophisticated and skilled liars than Hillary and her people are.

Got a bunch of emails from Trump today..survey on issues.

#24 What issues should Trump focus on? 12 or 14 multiple choice. Obamacare not one of the options. No option (on that line for other).

Voters are receiving their increase notices NOW. They are mad as H NOW. Is Trump (his staff) as out of touch with real people as Clinton is?

there are two separate issues
the cost of health care

the cost of non employer provided insurance/medicare and Obamacare

1. Health care is rising for all independent of Obamacare. There is an Obamacare increase component but It is not quantified separately

2. Obamacare cost is rising terrifically when purchased through an exchange or direct. We don’t know about hidden cost rises like deductibles.

When equating to voters, #1 are by far the majority and #2 are a .decided minority and are not as harshly affected by Obamacare. The wrath of many of these voters will not benefit hillary.

Obamacare is not an issue actually affecting most voters.

Trump’s people need to flood the battleground states with TV ads about these Obamacare price increases. It will shift real votes over to him. Ayotte in her NH senate race is up tonight with these ads....it’s as close to a kill-shot in politics as Trump will have. 100% increase in AZ ! If played right this issue is GOLD.

I thought for sure it would effect the 2012 election. It didn’t. I am hopeful but still think the majority of Americans are more left then us on here. I hope they wake up soon.

The impact of Obamacare on most voters is the hidden costs.

Of course, being hidden, the voters don’t vote based on those hidden costs...unless the hidden is exposed and connected to them.

You are right, the direct cost of Obamacare impacts only a few ... even only a few of those on Obamacare as most of the increase is paid for by the rest of us ... one of the hidden costs of Obamacare.

Trump needs to get another 3% or 4% to guarantee a win. (Some think he might be winning anyway. But it is best to not count on that.)

So although Obamacare is more of a concern to a few, than to most, it is that 3% or 4% who are the few that need to be reached. Of course, those few are complaining to their family, in-laws, neighbors, co-workers and have an impact on the votes of many more than their few numbers.

In a dedicated thread we need to list ... and then quantify ... all the direct and hidden costs of healthcare, most but not all of which are attributable to Obamacare.

4 years ago Obama kept any bad news on Obamacare from being released until December so it couldn’t effect his re-election.
