Sarfraz Bugti, Pakistan's Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, told reporters that the assault had ended in the early hours of Tuesday and the area had been cleared for attackers.
One attacker was killed by security forces; two others died when they detonated bombs they were carrying, he said. It was not immediately clear whether the three dead attackers were among the total number of dead cited by Bugti. Two police officers were also killed during the assault. The attackers focused on a hostel at the academy where as many as 700 police cadets live, officials said.

Three suspects come to mind, ISIS, Turkey and Iran.
Overwhelmingly Sunni Islam, and supported by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Pakistan.
Shia Islam (and Iran) have largely been involved in the last 15 years in places like the old Sadr city insurgency, and obviously groups like Hezbollah are Shia Islam/Iran supported. But all of those, combined, do not come close to Sunni based attacks around the world.
Virtually every other group, from ISIS to Al Qaeda to Al Nusra, are all Sunni based Islam. The Pakistani attack is 100% guaranteed a Sunni based terror group attack. Pakistani supported several such groups, since those groups would attack India, but lately they have been biting the hand that feeds them.
Dang, Islam is the religion of peace and they’re willing to kill to prove it!
