If I remember correctly, Rush wasn’t talking about what a fine conservative he was, but talking about what a decent person he was personally at the time when he was running in 2012, and how the press was coming down hard on him with stories about how he was responsible for a woman’s cancer death, and how he hated animals with the dog on roof of car story.

Has Rush said anything about Julian Assange yet?

He mentioned his name, but didn’t elaborate.

Very true. For example, assume that Trump wants a reasonable federal budget that gets rid of some federal agencies and cuts spending in others. This will be portrayed by the press as the most evil, racist, uncompassionate thing to happen in the history of the world. Trump's only option will be to veto the typical profligate spending bills coming out of the Congress.

Is there any doubt that between the Ryan Republicans and the Democrats, the Establishment won't be able to muster 2/3 to override Trump's vetoes? This is going to be the story of the first two years of Trump's Presidency. However.....the way to combat this is for Trump to take full control of the party apparatus from day one of his presidency, THEN to have his supporters form PACs in the districts of all the anti-Trump congressmen, recruit high quality candidates to run in primaries against those Rynos, and THEN make the 2018 off-year election a referendum on whether we want pro-American, pro-Trump policies, or if we want government by the Establishment.

I think that most GOPe will start to go along with Trump after that; others can be primaried. That will solve the problem and allow him to pass his programs. The Presidency remains a very bully pulpit, and Donald can take advantage of it like Reagan did to take his case directly to the American people. Donald has one thing going for him that Reagan didn't--he is not afraid to go after people in his own party who try to sabotage him. Reagan got undercut by people like Dole and Baker time and time again, and couldn't fight back, because he was trying to preserve party unity. Trump will call out Ryan and McConnell, and they won't know what hit them.

First things first. Gotta win the election in the face of the most corrupt, coordinated effort to thwart the will of the people in the history of democratic elections.

Mitt’s ancient history to me; ancient history that jumped
the shark then circled around and jumped it again.

I listen to Rush’s show; can’t just sit over it for 3 hrs.,
but some of you seem to sometimes be listening to a very
different RUSH than I’ve known all these years. I just do
NOT hear some of the things some of you claim that Rush
says.

Bonjour y'all. I'm here, finally. Better late than never.

I had doctor appointments this morning.

“I can’t spare this man. He fights!”. - Abraham Lincoln, responding to criticisms against General Ulysses Grant’s aggressive but casualty-heavy military strategy.

Taking a cue from Honest Abe, Republicans and conservatives should apply the same approach to Trump, the “casualties” being the Democrats and RINOs.

Impeachment is one thing. Conviction is another. I don't think the 2nd shoe would fall if impeachment charges were brought.

I couldn't tell, but if he was talking about Obama's constitutional violations in regard to legislation or EO's overturned, wouldn't the same have applied to Bush when he signed campaign finance into law only to have the supreme's overturn it?

Rush starts “analysis” when it looks as if the R candidate is going to be defeated. He was doing a good job today of trying to keep the rank and file engaged. While that’s good news, the bad news is he’s doing it only so the damage isn’t worse from those feeling defeated already staying home.

On the failure of the Congress to rein in presidents, Rush was riffing on an article by Andy McCarthy at PJMedia.com. Here's excerpts from what Rush said :

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Well, our system no longer is working, and the reason our system isn't working is because... Congress is AWOL...

In other words, a bunch of damage to this country has been done, and it could have been stopped using impeachment. They could have tried, but they take it off the table. They've removed it as an option. This is the Constitution's mechanism. We have a Constitution written by the founders that contains a mechanism to rein in a rogue or out of control president who is behaving extraconstitutionally, as this one is...

So is the power of the purse.... Congress is paralyzed by fear that any cutting off of funds will be portrayed as a denial of someone’s entitlement or other transfer payments...

His theory, the reason our system is not working is because Congress has abrogated its constitutional authority and power to rein in a rogue president.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Rush was speaking not only about Obama, but about the abdication of power by Congress that's been going on for a long time.

I stopped listening to Rush some weeks ago when I felt like he was mocking Trump supporters, and tuned in today for the first time in a long time, to see what he had to say about wikileaks.

I thought he did a good job today. He seems to be over his anti-Trump stage.

Impeachment is iffy because you need 2/3rds vote to convict. Power of the purse strikes me as a more useable power.

Rush has been anti-Trump from the get-go. If he’s changed, which I doubt, then good. I quit listening and dropped my 24/7 over his mistreatment of Trump and his supporters!

Getting to 2/3 is the issue. It’s one thing if you’ve got a slam dunk. It’s another to use it for the sake of making a show. It shouldn’t be for political reasons, but pure rogueness or criminal activity. I saw Rush supporting using it as a political tool under the guise of constitutional.
