Dayton: Health Law 'No Longer Affordable'

Minnesota's Democratic governor said Wednesday that the Affordable Care Act is "no longer affordable," a stinging critique from a state leader who strongly embraced the law just a few years ago.

Gov. Mark Dayton made the comments while addressing questions about Minnesota's fragile health insurance market, where individual plans are facing double-digit increases after all insurers threatened to exit the market entirely in 2017.

They follow cost concerns and criticism nationwide, including President Bill Clinton saying last week that the law was "the craziest thing in the world" before he backtracked.

He isnt saying that at all. He is simply saying that bigger subsidies are needed to bring the price down. AND that is what will happen. All this gloating from the right will end in tears when the Republican Congress passes a spending bill to prop up the insurers.

What else can they do? Let people go without insurance? Offer a viable free market alternative that will muster enough votes to overide a veto? Nope. They will let it get to crisis stage and then fight the Dems “fix” of more and bigger subsidies, get pilloried in the media and panic, and then approve the Dems heroic legislation. Thus they will be greedy, mean, uncaring, and hard to work with (according to the Dems) and sellouts, unprincipled, idiotiotic, wobbly kneed, and traitors (by the Right). The Dems will bask in the glory of it all and will have once and forever enshrined the government takeover of our health care.

They’re still going to cut me that $2500 dollar check, though, aren’t they?
