During the October 9 presidential debate Donald Trump said he will nominate Supreme Court justices in the mold of the late Antonin Scalia in order to save the Second Amendment from “people like Hillary Clinton.”

Trump said:

I am looking to appoint judges very much in the mold of Justice Scalia. …People that will respect the constitution of the United States. And I think that this is so important–also, the Second Amendment which is totally under siege by people like Hillary Clinton.

He said the judges he puts forward will “respect the Second Amendment and what it stands for, and what it represents.”

That was supposed to be the entire Constitutional vision, although it had an Achilles’ heel in the Supremes. Until we get a better Constitution, this is the best we can hope.

I would love to have a president that would protect the 2nd Amendment and put another Scalia on the Supreme Court, but he said the P word 11 years ago and that is more important.... right?

By putting coonservatives on the Court, he will in fact save the Nation. Hillary would put liberals there who would continue the lawless law-making trend we’ve seen only with no chance of even a split decision on clearly anti-traditionalist, anti-American, and outright socialistic decisions. Who can say she wouldn’t appoint Obama to the SCOTUS as payoff for keeping her secrets? Or both Obamas, for that matter!

It is Trump, or goodbye America.

One thing we do know is that Obama will not be picking the next Supreme Court Justice and that means that Merrick Garland will NEVER sit on the Supreme Court!

Mitch McConnell will stand by us on this one and only accept a Supreme Court nomination from the next president and it becomes more clear everyday that Donald Trump is our next president.

Did you notice that when asked the criteria for picking Supreme Court justices, Clinton did not mention the CONSTITUION once, in a rather long reply.

At least Trump mentioned the CONSTITUION once directly and several times indirectly by talking about actual parts of it, such as 2A.

This is a stark difference.

However, neither one cited knowledge and respect for the Constitution as the primary criteria for picking a SC Justice.

Clinton spoke of selecting justices with the world view up to date with the times.

Trump spoke of selecting justices to uphold and protect the Constitution.

Where in the Constitution is it hinted at, outlined or instructed that populist world view has any bearing on the prerequisites for any laws or justice appointment?

[Until we get a better Constitution, this is the best we can hope.]

‘WE THE PEOPLE’ are the weak link in the U.S. CONSTITUTION. It was ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ who elected corrupt, progressives to office and turned a blind eye to bad legislation.

I noticed many times he used the phrase “people like her”.

I loved it.

On the supreme court question. I was desperate to hear the word “constitution” leave SOMEONE’S lips. It did, and only Donald’s.

When they try to take it away, that is when we MUST use it!

Sadly, it [Constitution] needs defending.

Indeed. When you have the Supreme Court saying the 2nd Amendment means what it says by a squeaker 5-4 vote, you know the nation is in BIG trouble.

It couldn’t possibly be more clear cut; The Donald will defend the Second Amendment, hillary will undermine it as she guts the constitution.

This election is critical to America for that reason alone, if for no other.
