“There’s no way she could have concocted that story about Abe on the spur of the moment.”

I think she did concoct the Lincoln defense on the fly, which is why it failed. If she and her staff had been prepared for her remarks to the banksters to come up, they would have thought up a plausible defense.

I guarantee you that someone on her staff is nursing a wound from a flying ashtray this morning.

I'm not willing to give them a pass just because they believe that there are different standards, different laws for them versus us. They work for us, and they are supposed to come "from" us, the body of this Republic, to represent us both in who and what we are, and in our choices on how to deal with those issues that are within their scope and authority. They are not our "betters", they are our servants, out employees, and need to be reminded of that. Forcefully if needs be.

If holding them to the proper standard makes CWII inevitable, then perhaps we need to make that clear (and be prepared and determined to follow through), and to not shirk from our responsibility to insist upon and enforce the idea, the standard, that those who choose to represent us be held accountable to the same laws that apply to the rest of us. No exceptions.

If the laws are too stringent for them, then they are too stringent for the rest of us as well.

I believe that, once it is made clear that they are to be held strictly accountable, the consequences you fear would actually amount to having better candidates and other public servants representing and working for us, people who understand their role and awesome responsibility. Statesmen, rather than just politicians. Public servants rather than just bureaucrats.

Who went low when low and released the crass video? Democrats did that and exposes private stuff and made it a national issue.
Clintons are making this the dirtiest election ever.

The only difference here is unlike every other Republican who wrongly retires after falsely being accused, Trump (like what Democrats do daily) fights back and takes it to the streets if necessary.
The conversation was a ad one for Trump, but what every person running for office for the right reason needs to learn about the lesson of Trump is to fight back.
Notice Trump wants to stick with issues and meanwhile Democrats go after all side issues to gain their power by driving voter focus off the important real issues and toward any diversion to sneak into office.

I think there is a real likelihood Democrats are going to pull the same crap they pushed with Bush and the drunk slow driving ticket 20 years earlier three days before the election.
In many ways Bush was a putz, but he did not in his Presidency reflect being a drunk.

You are not going to get tapes and video on Clintons because they have been leading a guarded public life for 50 years running for office. They are professional politicians.
Almost any unguarded souls in their life would get some stupidity caught on camera, because they don't lead a guarded life. Books by people next to Clintons report what a violent foul mouthed creep Hillary is, but ITS NOT ON TAPE.

As this goes forward know the Clintons who orchestrated these leaks will withhold some other stuff. I assume this was the worst because this was a diversion on-hand to deflect the contents and press from going after her leaked emails.

If I were Trump I would stick to the issues 90% and the other 10% bring as many experts along to talk about Hillary's violence, temper and foul mouth.

Maybe next election Trump should ask how while she was Secretary is State her brother got the only gold mining license given in the last 40 years in Africa? That was a payoff for what Hillary?

Trump should go so far with her that if she does get elected that she will have a horrible time governing.
He should give a constant education of the Clinton crime family.

I still think the reality was this: Cankles had just about lost the election despite the bogus polling. I think Team Trump is confident they have OH, AZ, GA, IA, and FL, that they are ahead in NC, NV, and CO, and that they are within “turnout” margin (their words) of MI and PA and WI and maybe even NH.

In other words, Cankles likely had already lost the election by mid-week last week.

I think they had to loose this dirt early. It was not scheduled to be fired until 2 weeks from now. It is not all they have, but I think it was the biggest shot. Trump’s tour de force, first with the Clinton women, then in the debate, is an absolute game changer and should result now in a genuine blowout.

Trump also took that one audience question , and talked about job losses in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He just seemed to do almost everything right last night. Blowout!

Trump should go so far with her that if she does get elected that she will have a horrible time governing.

Note well: those who are saying that losing candidates for political office should not be prosecuted -- meaning the Donald had better not go after Her Heinous if(when) he wins -- no such considerations would bother the First Family of Crime were they to win instead. We would see payback by executive fiat on a scale that would make Genghis Khan orgasmic.

I imagine that the Don knows it himself. I also suspect that he's not overly worried about the chances of it happening.

Trump 100% rocks.

Two WRKO Boston hosts this AM said they felt Trump's "pacing" and "body language" during debate II was counterproductive, rude, vaguely threatening to Clinton.

Disagree! Trump's mannerisms, pacing and impatient demeanor is EXACTLY what the country feels and WAS 100% NEEDED.

It said: "I'm angry that this felon and law breaker continues with a Presidential campaign."

His Body Language & PACING ON STAGE WERE EXACTLY APPROPRIATE!!!!!!

Today's morning TV talk shows can try to 'spin' it otherwise - but: They. Are. Wrong!

How could she remember all the things she talked about in 100 minutes, when in an interview with the FBI, they literally had her claim that she couldn’t remember 39 times.

“On January 1st the Clintons will be leaving the USA ASAP.”

Yeah. I expect they’ll go to wherever their stolen billions are stashed, and connect with their money there. Probably much/all of the bags full of money taken off the plane in Iran has been moved to the Caymans or similar.

“Hillary keeps parroting her tired lines ...”

And it pisses me off every time she uses the line, “America is great because America is good”, as if it’s her own invention, and she’s oh-so-clever. She never gives credit to Alexis de Tocqueville.

From now on & at every opportunity, Trump should meet every answer from lying Hillary with, “Is that your public position or private position?”

Also, Trump stopped short of accusing her of “murder”, by saying something like, “I won’t say ‘murder’”.

People noticed. He’s smart. He knows murder is in her past so put it out there without actually saying it.

Do you think Obama would step down if he thought he would be prosecuted after leaving office?

Yes, because he doesn't have a choice.

Or would he declare martial law and start rounding up his opponents?

I suppose he could arrange a reichstag fire, but it's not like an executive can pull martial law out of their butt for no reason.

Remember when the Democrats wanted to go after Bush II for ‘war crimes?’ They didn’t for just the reasons I have brought up.

I have yet to see ANYTHING the democrats would not do because they feared what would happen when the shoe was on the other foot. They just don't.

Not being prosecuted for political ‘differences of opinion’ (even if they ARE criminal...) is a large part of the basis for the orderly and peaceful transfer of power in this country.

The whole concept of a political "get out of jail free card" is antithetical to our whole system of governance and culture, though I do see a strong desire to drift that way on the part of those who would benefit from such an arraignment.

Further, it may be the implied threat from those same beneficiaries, but there is no evidence to support such an "agreement."

If Trump has a rejuvenated DoJ go after Hillary! after the election (as she deserves...), he sets a precedent for every subsequent election. Not a good thing.

A precedent of not tolerating lawlessness in elective officials is PRECISELY what we need after an administration such as this.

“Because you’ll be in jail” is the best line of the night.

Trump lives to fight another day.
