Yaffo residents protest "Jewish settlement"

Residents of the Coptic neighborhood in central Yaffo continue their protest on Sunday against the construction of a religious Jewish school in Yaffo saying that they object to “The settlers' conquest,” according to the Arabic newspaper, Falastin.

A member of neighborhood council, Yosef Asfur, told the newspaper that the residents of the neighborhood are protesting against the settlers who came to the neighborhood with the support of the government.

According to Asfur, if the municipality won’t listen to the loud call against the “settlers,” they will succeed in in fulfilling their goal of creating a Jewish religious school in Yaffo, the same way they established the neighborhood of Al Jabliya in Yaffo.

Asfur noted that, the goal of this protest is to end the construction on this building and restore the building's original use as a an apartment complex.Additionally, protesters aim to prevent ‘extremists’ from living in an Arab neighborhood.

I didn’t know there was a Coptic neighborhood in Yaffo. Anyway, I am surprised that Copts would demonstrate against a Jewish school. I wonder whether the demonstrators are Copts, and if there is more to the story.

True that, tho the attitude of dhimmitude is so entrenched in many Christian communities there which is why there is not uniform support for Israel among non-Muslim Arabs, when in reality if they knew what was good for them, there would be.

Naive American chrstians don't seem to be able to get it in their heads that Middle Eastern chrstians are not Southern Baptists. They are the most anti-Jewish, anti-Israel chrstians in the world and were historically more anti-Zionist than even the moslems.

The Copts are not and never have been (and never will be) friends of Israel. Neither are any of the other Middle Eastern chrstians.

American chrstians have got to wake up and smell the coffee.
