If Nixon were still around, I believe he would be critical of Trump, but he would not support Mrs. Bill. Re: Islamic terrorism, US sovereignty and strength.

He was friendly to Bill, but I don’t think Nixon would have been a globalist.

The Republican leadership ultimately talked Nixon into resigning. They knew it was a lost cause.

No, the Republican leadership told Nixon they wouldn't protect him in the Senate.

Unlike the Democrats who protected Clinton, no matter what -- the Republicans put the rule of law above the party.

Norm Macdonald has come out with an autobiography that got a terrific review in the Wall Street Journal last week.

“I’m not that surprised at his [Bob Dole’s] support of Trump really.”

Explain, please. I’m interested.

Gents, thanks for the perspective and video of which I forgot. I never realized he was that smart. I get why the left hated him. A dear friends of mines dad was a "B" rated actor who knew Reagan and sung his praises as he opened up an HMO and treated him like a king. My friend recalls his dad saying Ronald Reagan was a good man a man of labor. Tangent to this his dad said yes their are communist in Hollywood, they want me to join the party all the time.

Isn't it ironic, Nixon / Joe McCarthy were right and that in their quest to destroy Nixon, Hillary was on that team? And now Dole stand with Trump who metaphorically wants to put a stake in the heart of a certain Socialist Beast? ;-)

Either I am off my rocker, or this is bigger than any of us or anything we imagined...

Thank you, Bob Dole. I voted for you once. Back when I was a kid.

I think you and I are basically on the same page on this one. I just worded it poorly. I was referring to Sen Goldwater, House Minority Leader Rhodes, and Sen Minority Leader Scott meeting with Nixon to confirm that he would impeached and convicted. Nixon resigned the next day.

I had dinner with Senator Dole at the Midwest Republican Leadership Conference when I worked for General Al Haig. Robert Novak and Lando Calrissian were also at the table.

You had dinner with the Administrator of Cloud City? Color me impressed.

"He was friendly to Bill, but I don’t think Nixon would have been a globalist."

Didn't Nixon secretly open up talks with communist China near the end of his presidency? At that time it was unthinkable, as I recall.

Yes, but that was not about globalism. That was about Cold War balance of power: China vs Soviet Union.

Meant to add that it was not secret. Nixon and his wife’s trip to China was very well publicized. :-)

All day and night, almost every minute, Fox mouthpieces have been wildly orgasmic in slamming Trump. Campaign Carl was one of the worst of the worst, as usual.

The Fox producer put up a large photo gallery with squeaky-clean head-and-shoulders pix of all the big-name RINOs and COWARDS disavowing Trump.

Very impressive-looking. I thought I was watching an exhibit piece hanging on a wall in the National Gallery of Art.

Thanks, Senator Dole, for not being among this RINO rogues-gallery, this ball-less band of yellow-bellies.

Thanks. I was pretty young then. My head was mush and the memories are hazy. ;-)

I understand. I’m so old that I remember when George Washington crossed the Delaware in the Revolution. Haha!

Why don’t you have a seat in the dark corner over there. The adults in the room are trying to have a conversation.
