LOSING INTERNET FREEDOM

At the stroke of midnight on September 30, 2016, America said good-bye to its long-time oversight of the internet, and along with it, the certainty of internet freedom. Because the internet was started in the United States, from its inception, the system of managing domain names and numbers has always been conducted in or by the United States. In 1998, the Department of Commerce (DoC) contracted ICANN, a California-based non-profit, to perform the function of IANA[1] management. It’s a critical role to ensure that internet domain names are not duplicated and that the assigned numbers are secure. DoC maintained oversight of ICANN and also performed some related administrative tasks.

Posted already. But I'm glad you posted again because the piece really hits the crux of the issue:

For the most part, tech and social media companies such as Google, Facebook and Amazon support the transfer of internet oversight, likely because ICANN is populated with tech gurus, who will now have more authority. Given that Facebook and Twitter already have “hate speech” policies that censor speech, it’s no wonder that they are complicit in supporting a move with potential free speech consequences.

It's essentially another power play by globalists who must destroy America and everything it stands for.

Couldn’t we take back control, simply by setting up another organization to replace ICANN and directing all American internet providers to use it? Perhaps changing the protocols in the process?

What did China do?

I’ve long thought that we should find a way to block certain countries from the internet for insufficiently prosecuting scammers.

I also think we need a way of blocking other countries in times of war, or in response to cyber attacks originating from their countries.

>>What did China do?

Censorship, walled garden, limited access, domain control, etc. But not to worry: the American Internet will be more exceptional than the Chinese Internet, at least for a while.

“We should do like China.” China’s position is essentially reflected by Facebook and Google.

Aid and comfort to the enemy. In addition the Traitorobama and his kakistocracy, the Senate should bear the legal consequences for their treason.

palmer :(from the article)" Given that Facebook and Twitter already have “hate speech” policies that censor speech, it’s no wonder that they are complicit in supporting a move with potential free speech consequences."

palmer:"It's essentially another power play by globalists who must destroy America and everything it stands for."

And America slept through the greatest individual loss of "Freedom of Speech" without knowledge of consequence, or,
were more interested in Kim's jewelry robbery, Brad's loss of child custody, or football 'has-beens' sitting during the national anthem.
Incidentally, where did you learn about Kim's jewelry loss, Bradjolina, or Kapra'has-been ?
And the patriots slept through their loss of yet another freedom in the Bill of Rights by an over-reaching usurper.
The control and creation of the internet is an American communication invention, willingly and surreptitiously given over to a criminally corrupt globalist institution,..
.. and America slept through it !

The average person sees 6% of the Internet at the most. The rest is the DEEP WEB, which needs a certain type of browser to see (Tor). Then we have the DARK WEB, DO NOT GO THERE.

Technically TOR is how to browse the dark web. The deep web OTOH can be seen with an ordinary browser if you have the full URL. A lot of deep web is simply ordinary behind some sort of authentication to keep out the riffraff. The deep or dark webs can be full of crap (to put it nicely). So even if there is something worthwhile there, the same server will be spewing out some awful porn to someone else.
