"A rare combination of a dreamer and a doer." A rare combination of a shyster and dreamer who capitalizes on using taxpayer money for his his own enrichment.

If Musk were proposing mining asteroids, I’d be all for it. Going to Mars? Why?

A rare combination of a dreamer and a doer.

He's a doer on earth, a dreamer on Mars. I think it's a concession even to call this a dream. I think it's cynical hype.

Step 1) Give heavily to Democrat causes and politicians. Simply because they are the best at managing the country, Wink Wink.

Step 2) Receive multi billion dollar grants and tax structured benefits, including tax credits, IE Welfare, geared at new exciting enterprise.

Step 3) Sell idea and government backing to millions of investors and begin development while skimming 20% off the top.

Step 4) Become even more fabulously wealthy without ever having a profitable business.

I would start with Obama. We are going to have to put up with his mouth from now until the end of the World. Take that banshee of a wife with him. And his homely daughters.

Talk of colonizing Mars is premature.

We need to go back to our own moon and work out all the kinks of developing human settlements on another world, before attempting something as grandiose as what Musk and Robert Zubrin advocate.
