I don’t think Mac really had a home, much less a roommate. His travel of the country in a Jeep gave rise to all of the adventures. No one really contacted him for help he was just a wanderer catching up with friends.

After driving the same Jeep for 3 years and enjoying 8mpg... in freefall .... I can’t imagine how he afforded such a lifestyle.

I remember one part with him working on his Jeep with him under it and he swapped a fuel pump in mere moments and on the wrong side of the engine.

I predict the same fail from the Lethal Weapon Reboot.

Lethal Weapon is being remade too. Hollywood is completely devoid of ideas. There are tons of ideas out there. I would love to see the cartoon strip, The Family Circle, be made into a TV show.

Meh. Watch Scorpion if you want to watch something with ridiculous over-the-top solutions to every problem.

Totally agree. This reboot is trash. The original MacGyver, Richard Dean Anderson, cannot be imitated. If there are any others who did not see the original, it’s well worth the investment to get the DVD series. MacGyver was the best series of its time.

My daughter asked me to watch This Is us she really liked it. So I did watch it on demand since I told her I would and I thought it was good.

I asked my daughter to let me know if the second episode is good and perhaps I will watch it.

Yes, in the world of MacGyver, guns are unnecessary.

In SG-1 they solve many problems involving hostile aliens.

Here was a character who avoided guns

And would have been quickly killed in any real world situation.

To your point - The reboot IS crap and the re-boot WILL fail. The guy playing MacGyver can't act. George Eads puts him in the shade in every scene. The plot of the one I saw was mediocre. It's not that great a show, so far, despite the reviewer's praise.

Yes, in Stargate SG1 (another longrunning - 10 years) program led by Richard Dean Anderson - guns were prominent unlike in MacGyver. But in both series, RDA was superb! And both series were the top of their class.

Watched the first episode, but couldn’t get into it. I never watched the original series, but thought I’d give the new one a try. A wasted hour for sure. Now I hear they’re doing a remake of Dallas. I never watched that either, and certainly won’t watch whatever new version they roll out.

I haven’t checked this out, I’ve heard nothing but bad things and comments on this thread are no expection. I didn’t even hear about it until maybe a week or 2 before it premiered, it’s like they knew it was bad and didn’t bother to promote it much and put it on Friday.

Any of you guys seen it?

I’m not gonna bother with “Lethal Weapon”, you can tell from the trailers it’s wet garbage.

No memberberry pie for me.

I watched it last night, it was not bad. I don’t know if I’ll keep watching though, my days of watching network TV are long gone.

As stated above, I totally agree. Epic failure.

Richard Dean Anderson played the real MacGyver with pure class. He also did many of his own stunts - until Henry Winkler and he other producers/directors and management decided he really couldn’t be risked in that way....and RDA decided his body couldn’t take much more of the wear and tear. But his acting was fantastic. Can you tell I love RDA?

I just watched second episode of This Is Us. Worth Watching. Black guy just won an emmy for his role in the OJ thing .

NBC has picked up more episodes for the year so it will have a complete season.

Not sure how they will keep it up but I can see it lasting at least one season.
