For Some Newspapers, Endorsing Clinton Means Losing Subscribers
The New York Times ^ | September 28, 2016 | Sydney Ember

The subscription cancellations were coming every 10 minutes. Angry readers have been calling in droves. One caller issued a death threat.

“We’re feeling the weight of our history,” Phil Boas, the editorial page editor of The Arizona Republic, said in a telephone interview on Wednesday. Until it endorsed Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, the newspaper, founded in 1890, had never endorsed a Democrat over a Republican for president.

The Cincinnati Enquirer, which endorsed Mrs. Clinton last week, put it particularly bluntly: “Trump is a clear and present danger to our country.”

For some readers, however, the endorsements proved a step too far. “Certainly, we’ve paid a price for our presidential recommendation,” Mike Wilson, the editor of The Dallas Morning News, told Poynter this month.

Mr. Boas of The Arizona Republic said he expected “a lot of cancellations,” pointing to cancellations at The Cincinnati Enquirer, which like The Republic, is owned by Gannett.

I wonder how much the Clinton Foundation paid Gannett for this.

Is there a downside to this? 😆

Gannett also bought both major papers in the Detroit market years ago. The Detroit Free Press was the liberal rag. The Detroit News was the “conservative” paper. After Gannett bought them both, they began to change the editorial slant of the News to a more liberal bent. Now we see that the News has decided to break a pattern that is over a hundred years old of endorsing Republicans as they picked Johnson over Trump just yesterday. What Gannett has done is to totally alienate their News readers to the point that the News will now disappear from the Detroit area market. Subscriptions will fall to the point that the News will be another NYTimes, becoming a just another bankrupt liberal rag, like the Arizona Republic is sure to follow.

Just orders from Gannet HQ.

Editorial boards stocked with activists consumed with the concepts of inclusiveness, tolerance for any deviant behavior and the universal goodness of all mankind. Dinosaurs from the kumbaya age.

Their revenues are going down faster than a fly in a frog’s gullet. And this is a sane business model?

Well, Duuuhhh!

What they are really saying, Trump is a clear and present danger to the survival of the purchased media. (Press-titutes)

But the real danger to the nation is the Globalist Cabal including the media.

Gannett infected four major metropolitan Louisiana areas 30 years ago - Shreveport, Monroe, Lafayette, and Alexandria. They all absolutely refuse to address local government corruption unless the TV stations shame them into it.

"For Some Newspapers, Endorsing Clinton Means Losing Subscribers"

DemRATs no longer support the free speech that they demanded in the past, so lack of support for government controlled newspapers wouldn't come as a surprise.

The AJC (Atlanta Journal Constitution) has been giving away Sunday papers in my neighborhood for the past six weeks.

Why in the world someone would pay for that junk is beyond me.
Coupons is the only reason I can think of.
By the time you get print media is old news.

I saved them so I can use them as weed barriers in my vegetable garden next spring.

Another newspaper comes out against Trump with unsupported assertions to "justify" their incoherent claims.

The odd thing about this are the flimsy, pathetic, and unsupported excuses offered by this formerly great newspaper. They are too eager to trash Trump.

Follow the money!

So the print media is calling us deplorable and irredeemable. It’s no wonder I haven’t read a newspaper in years.

The article tries to portray these editorial boards as thoughtful and impressive, using historians and agonizing over the decision.

They signed an economic suicide pact—their Jonestown.

There is nothing “thoughtful” about that!

> But he said financial considerations were “never a factor” for the newspaper’s nine-person editorial board. “It was more of a curiosity,” he said. “We know we’re doing the right thing. We feel very good about this decision.”

Are they expecting a payoff if she wins?

Stupid is as stupid does. Just what did these paper editors think would be the outcome? Apparently, they have been reading and embracing too much of their own tripe for too long. Time to join the real world.

“Trump is a clear and present danger to OUR country.”

So in other words, they think Trump supporters are not American citizens and have no right to choose the president of THEIR country.

Why is Gannet News, the CIA newspaper chain of record, requiring all of its newspapers to support Hillary?

Is Gannet associated with the CIA? This would also help us to understand why former CIA head Bush said what he did about supporting Hillary.

Gannett Company, Inc. is a publicly traded American media holding company headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia, near McLean in Greater Washington DC.

Here is an article from January:

Sunday, January 24, 2016

Gannett Backs Clinton And Rubio In Iowa Caucuses

The CIA newspaper chain of record weighs in on the Iowa caucuses with just a little more than a week away before the first voters in the nation cast ballots in this year’s presidential election.

The Gannett rag in the Hawkeye State is the Des Moines Register. The leftist editors in Des Moines tap Hillary Clinton and Marco Rubio as the candidates they prefer for the Democratic and Republican nominations, respectively.

The leading Republican candidates, Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, refused to even meet with the leftist editorial board. The only surprise is that they didn’t support Jeb Bush since the newspaper has always favored Bushes over other Republican candidates in the past.
